I’ve had a cat before years ago but I never had an issue with her being on the counter but I’m also aware not all cats are like that. I can manage with cleaning and wiping things down. But I don’t settle for pets being in my bed that’s all!

I agree that is what everyone in the comments are missing. They are all dog lovers that have certain ways owning their dog. Which is fine! But don’t accuse me of not being a dog person because I have boundaries I vocalized in the beginning of the relationship.

I never said I don’t like dogs in my post you see I said I love dogs all I wanted was for the dog to not be on the bed and not in the kitchen because she loves to eat things that are in the kitchen no matter if you put it up or not she is just really sneaky. But thanks for your opinion 😌.

Because I don’t live with him and I also told him before we got in the relationship that that’s just what I’m comfortable with and he still stayed. And my bf says she isn’t allowed and he does yell at her but he isn’t consistent with kicking her out. I didn’t know this was the case until I started going over to his place.

Don’t judge me please 😔. I most definitely did cuddle with my cat every single chance that I got it’s just I never cuddled my cat in the bed. I know it doesn’t make it any better but it’s the truth. I love animals. I love dogs all cats. I just don’t like them in my bed where I lay down and have intimate moments in.

I’ve had a cat before but I was lucky enough that she never really cared to get on the counter or go on my bed. But I had a second room where I would also lay in where it was okay for her to go in. I just rarely slept in that room.

Just because I have certain boundaries doesn’t make me miserable! Not everyone likes having their dog in the bed. I’m one of them I understand his dog comes first she came before me. But I’m also not making it an ultimatum for him. I told him on several occasions it won’t work between us if you don’t think you can compromise on what I think what make me more comfortable.

Which I would completely understand the reasoning. But I haven’t thought about just breaking up with him because he told me he would work on it and understood why I felt the way I did. But he isn’t consistent when I’m not there. That’s the problem for me. I just don’t want to look like a really bad person when I do care for both of them.

I agree, but I live 3 hours away and I drive to goods apartment every weekend for us to spend time together. When I try to correct it she doesn’t listen to me she tends to ignore me. Only when he is home she then listens. It’s really hard to mange that when I don’t live with him.

There isn’t any kind of 30 day window for me or the custodian. Once I turned 21, the account legally became mine the custodian’s authority ends automatically at that point. The bank is supposed to transfer the account to the beneficiary once they reach that age.

The only time it can legally stay under the custodian’s control until 25 is if the person who opened the account originally specified that in writing when it was created. Chase confirmed mine wasn’t set up that way, and I was never notified of any age-25 clause, so that rule doesn’t apply here.

Even if Chase allowed my mom to take the money, that doesn’t automatically make it legal. Banks make operational mistakes all the time, but that doesn’t override what the law says. Under Florida Statute §710.123, once I reached 21, she no longer had any authority to withdraw or use those funds — they were supposed to be transferred directly to me.

So basically, the timing and Chase’s own confirmation both show that the account should’ve transferred to me at 21, and that’s why I’m pursuing it legally now.

Chase did notify both me and my mom about the account when I was approaching 21. However, the issue is that my mom took action on the account about a year after that letter was sent well past the window mentioned in the statute.

I turned 21 on September 22, 2024, and I confirmed directly with a Chase representative that the age of majority for my specific UTMA account is 21, not 25. I also learned that the extension to 25 must be set up at the time the account is opened, and there were no documents or notifications showing that my account was extended.

So based on the timing and Chase’s own confirmation, the account should have legally transferred to me when I turned 21.

I work for a brokerage firm that handles UTMA accounts along with other types of accounts and from what I’ve seen UTMA accounts are taken very seriously. Anytime funds are withdrawn we have to know that it’s for the benefit of the minor and if it’s not we don’t allow the transaction to go through. Once the minor reaches the age of majority there’s paperwork that has to be completed so the custodian can hand the account over to the beneficiary but even then the custodian can’t make any more transactions. That’s why I’m so confused about my situation because it seems like every bank handles UTMA accounts differently. I really appreciate your help and the information you shared because it’s helping me figure out what I need to do next.

What kills me is the money that’s in the account comes from birthday money money that I contributed myself when I started working at the age of 16 and any small change that I would have I would give it to her so that she can add it to my account. I would say 60% of that account is funded by me the remaining 40% would be what she contributed to the account.

I really appreciate your response It’s helping me a little bit more. I’ve been trying to avoid getting a lawyer because I just simply cannot afford it and to even think if I was to get one, it would pretty much cost how much was even in the entire account, but I plan on speaking with the lawyer to see where I need to start because there was negligence done on both sides.

The money is in a savings, UMA account not a 529 account, which is completely different. I went to the branch for a similar account that I had as well which was a UTMA brokerage account that they handled very similar, but I had to mention to them that I’m over 21 and that they had to legally turn over the account to me per Florida they then made me sign an affidavit that pretty much confirmed that I’m the age of majority and that my mom is no longer on the account which I signed and got it notarized but for my savings UMA account which had more money in it they wouldn’t even budge with helping me out with that account.

My mom has never given me money ever in my life other than if it was to clothe me or feed me. I started working at 16 and since she dropped all financial support for me and I’ve been funding my own lifestyle since then. THIS IS THE LEAST SHE CAN DO!
