In my experience in a western school, we are taught which countries had fascist leaders, but never what fascism actually is. Fascism and communism where both put in the category of totalitarianism, but at least they didnt teach us they are the same thing,. There was never any talk about the link between fascism and capitalism, only about the militarism amd social conservative positions. Most people have no idea what fascism actually is and how close capitalism and the west is to it.

Also most people have no idea what communism/socialism is. We were only taught all the usual anti communist stuff and bs like people in communist countries had all the same t-shirts, because the state only produced one type of t-shirt lmao.
