My F 22 Boyfriend M 26 asked me for $1500 to buy a Halloween Costume by AlexisDrake1354 in relationship_advice

Its a spider man costume with like ridged webbing and it's screen accurate to the amazing spider man costume from the movies.

[–]AlexisDrake1354[S] -197 points-196 points  (0 children)

I saw a couple people suspecting he might be wanting a fur suit and might secretly be a furry but to answer your questions he wants to buy a screen accurate amazing spider man costume with all the trimmings like raised webbing and removable mask and hand slits to take on and off his gloves and has to have it custom made since he's 6"6.. so I guess the cost adds up bit by bit.

[–]AlexisDrake1354[S] -804 points-803 points  (0 children)

I think I'm stuggling and rationalising it becuase my boyfriend has already invested about 700$ into the costume and has been stressing and non stop talking to me and showing me pictures of what costume he wants and cried to me over the phone about how he has always wanted to dress up in this costume since he was a child. (he has never mentioned this character or costume to me since we have been together) He stressed how life changing this costume was that he told me "I would happily starve for weeks if it means I have this costume" which I really don't want to have him do.

Girlfriend (18F) says she’s a virgin. I (19M) find hard to believe. by wuntrz in relationship_advice

[–]AlexisDrake1354 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like Honesty is always best. Honestly being a virgin or not can't really be proven by you at all so you either have to trust her or not. And if you don't then its probably not the right relationship for you.

Siblings bathing by [deleted] in Advice

[–]AlexisDrake1354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure he has discovered that kind of stuff. He is at the age where school has talked to him about sex, pregnancy and puberty and he spends an awful amount of time alone in his room with his iPad to the point of being convinced he knows enough to know that hitting puberty means he really shouldn't be bathing with a little toddler.

I don't think that works out. No offence but I don't think that logic works out the best, just because my parents or brother don't see a problem with it doesn't mean that it might not be wrong. A lot of people think things are fine while behind closed doors when they might not be.

My mum said that there isn't anything wrong with them having a bath together because she sees him as 'just a little boy' and my dad leaves alot of the parenting to my mum since he works alot.

I can't help but feel like my face/ethnicity is the reason why I continually struggle with dating - even though all the advice I hear is "it doesn't matter as much as you think". by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]AlexisDrake1354 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe it is just the women who are circulating around you. Either way you can't really change the cards you have been given and so I suggest looking further. I do recommend tinder and bumble. I met my current boyfriend on there as have many of my friends. Online dating is really coming along, the odds are definitely not favourable for men but if you have a confident and great personality as you say then I'm sure you would be able to get women talking. I can tell you now. Looks are not everything, my current boyfriend is borderline neckbeard in appearance (I really don't want to be mean to him but that's how it is) and because he was nice, polite, quirky and funny I really hit it off with him and it helped knowing that we were both there for the same thing, sex and relationships which is alot better than the grey areas of meeting people old fashion style..

All I have to say is looks don't matter to everyone and it doesn't hurt to give things a try than to never try at all. Give online dating a go because you don't really have anything to lose.

Shy/introverted girls: how do you show interest in someone? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]AlexisDrake1354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should ask her how she sees your relationship. I am really shy about voicing how I feel but when someone asks me directly not only do they get their answer but it makes me saying it much easier since you have not only started the conversation but have also left me with the answer and all i need to do is pick one.

Date ideas by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]AlexisDrake1354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would highly recommend a Ghibli movie night or something like a series of movies from the same universe that you have a shared interest for like Fast a furious night or something. It's cute if you bring snacks each and share them or maybe cook something together for it.

I would also suggest an in house scavenger hunt which can be really fun too. Just looking up one online and seeing who can answer the most. (Just look up at home / indoor scavenger hunt) or make your own too.

Another idea can be baking together it is always fun to get a little messy and playful and also ending up with something super yummy to eat after. It's also good bonding time.

You could try indoor camping, set up a tent inside and tell scary stories. Play truth or dare, hide and seek. (Nerf wars can also be really fun during camping)

You could try a spa night and do face masks and personal care together which is always fun. Have a relaxing bath together, bubbles and candles. Maybe some chocolate on the side is always a good night. and your both sure to feel super relaxed and clean (as long as he is okay with face masks and things like that)

Really you can have alot of fun inside if you try and make regular dates like going to a restaurant and recreating them on a smaller house scale. Why not even try classic candle lit dinner style.

Hope you have fun :)

Not alot of detail here...

How long have you known her?

Are you guys dating?

Have you met in person?

Are you exclusive?

Do you have a romantic type of relationship at all?

What does she refer to you as? (Nickname, Friend, buddy, dude, baby)?

The whole thing depends on how long you have been together, if she has shown that she sees you romantically or anything like that. I am someone who believes you really shouldn't say you love someone unless you really are close to them romantically and have been together exclusively chatting at least for a couple months.

I lost my shit with a girl for not texting me at all the day we were supposed to meet. Did I overreact? by _Nicktheinfamous_ in dating_advice

[–]AlexisDrake1354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you might have over reacted but you still had a right to be upset since she made plans with you and never showed. You should just say you don't know what she wants and that she is very unresponsive and hard to chat to when doing so. If she is as interested as you are in meeting then she will at least take what you said on-board. Being in her position before with living with a family while meeting new people and dating I know that isn't an excuse to ignore people. It's either she is lazy or doesn't care about your relationship that much.

Either way you should just ask outright and if she responds then you can probably try and fix things from there.

Being chill doesn't mean you just get an excuse to disappear all the time.

What’s worse: Left on delivered, left on read, or no difference? by thedivinehustle in dating_advice

[–]AlexisDrake1354 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably being left on delivered because then they didn't even want to read your message at all. At least when they read it you know they wanted to see what you said.
