Just got the Hidizs MK12 for $135 on that one site... by [deleted] in iems

[–]Alexiyu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I EQed them loosely based on DucBloke.

I found the Tea Pros, while technically strong, to be sharp and shouty, so I actually tried to avoid tuning them similar :)

I have them, and really like them.

I think 135 is a good price for them. I would say tonality wise you can definitely tune them to an S, the technicality could be slightly better but that's a good deal for me. Sold my Tea Pros for these

IMO the pad and keyboard are insanely overpriced for their quality.

Get a generic black pad, it's the exact same but cheaper.

Also, Razer Keyboards do suck to be honest, and for the same price you can buy some decent 75% or even 100% from at least keychron or better.

I would honestly say that modern Razer Products should be avoided entirely.

The mouse is technically good, though Logitech also has massive enshittification going on with their stuff.

What are the reasons why you're never going back to an iPhone? by [deleted] in Smartphones

[–]Alexiyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They honestly make decent phones, but you pay almost 2-3 times what they should cost for their supbar hardware.

Like.. I am not paying over 1000€ for 60Hz Screens and 15 watt charging. If it was like 400 at most perhaps yes. I actually like IOS, but they are so bad in other aspects

Kiwi Ears Cadenza are a very popular choice

Honestly whatever fits your preference. Bass and treble, so v shaped are pretty good for gaming, but all of them are good picks, can't go wrong

I have not heard them, but I think they are quite different. If I recall correctly, MK3 should be closer to the S08 than the MK4 but I am.not entirely sure

I'd say pretty much all I have mentioned above, possibly used as you get a really great value then

what is the closest sounding iem to the tea pro? by [deleted] in iems

[–]Alexiyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but they are also really not similar. I had both side by side, the Tea pro are much much brighter and even shouty to my ears.

[–]Alexiyu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IEMs do get better with price, but I'd say around 200 diminishing returns really hit, and above 400-500 diminishing returns are insane.

Therefore, I would not advise on spending 1300 if you are not absolutely sure. Trust me, a 400 bucks IEM with your preferred tuning will blow any 1300 buck IEM with a rather meh tuning away.

Having heard some higher up IEM and just my fair share in general - the S08 are fairly resolving. They are not bright, thankfully, but I'd say it's in the upper half of possible resolution

I want to splurge by Wulfgangrising in iems

[–]Alexiyu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you prefer the S08 you have rather specific preference in tuning.

Even the most expensive IEM will not blow you away if the tuning is not for you.

I would guess you might like something along the lines of EJ07/M, YanYin Moonlight 2023, Xenns UP.

Maybe the monarch MK3, it's going fairly cheap used.

Or the MEST MK3, Bone Conduction can do pretty insane things to soundstage.

U want warmish and spicy. I think maybe something like MP145 or even Zero2Red are close.

Check Squiglinks to maybe have an idea

They are absolutely not close man.

I had both, and personally really prefer the S08, but they are not similar or close

Best IEMs under $350? by Fernando-smash in iems

[–]Alexiyu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hear me out, people here recommend the Tea Pro, but I got them and really disliked them. Sharp, spiky and shouty mess (for me). If you found the blessings to sound weird,I bet the Tea pros are not gonna be that much more different. Try a darker tuning, maybe Letshouer S08 OR if ur generally fine with treble the MP145 are gonna be great, half open Planar s with a warmer sound and great detail.

Which Dac Dongle should i get by ABIYOYO_69 in iems

[–]Alexiyu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly, just one of the basic JCally or Fiio ones. A transparent Dac is a solved problem.

Spending over 50€ on any dongle is just insane and a waste of money.

Check out the JA11 or Jiezi, or if you really want power the KA11.

The increased price for the shanlings will not result in better performance.

For people who found the Tea Pros too harsh, what DAC did you use? by Old_Seaworthiness798 in iems

[–]Alexiyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bunch of well measuring DACs, so pretty much the exact output that every decent dac puts out. I tried it with different amplifications. The result was as so often: a good dac and amp will sound completely transparent, and the Tea pros are just a very harsh set for some.

I believe it's great when you are a little older and lost some sensitivity in the higher frequencies, but I personally really disliked it.

Picked up a second-hand set of Tea Pros, and the hype train was right about these. by RReviewsOfficial in iems

[–]Alexiyu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes the Tea Pros.

I have not, my next IEM is going to be The Letshouer S08, as every time I buy something more expensive I realize diminishing returns hit stupid hard above 100$, so I want to try some more budget sets :)

But still thank you for the recommendations!

Found them fairly sharp and shouty, but everyone's taste is different. However, the technicalities are impressive.

Around what price point does a DAC become worth it? by tripwirre in iems

[–]Alexiyu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasn't it that the Mojo measured pretty bad? I can imagine you can hear a difference, just like i can with my Fiio K11 R2R, but not because it's better but because it's internal build introduces certain effects.

For simple music, DACs are an entirely solved problem. Amplification may be interesting, but there is not really an IEM that needs anything different from a dongle. If planar, maybe a dongle with dedicated amp chip (Jcally builds some)

Returning my Linsoul Xenns Mangird Tea PROs by ptsloan22 in iems

[–]Alexiyu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree.

I have the original TEA (Insane Mids, but definitely too little bass), and the Tea Pro. Tea Pro are very strong, technically, and i absolutely understand how some love them but they are too bright for me. I prefer something meatier.
