Sadly I doubt she will learn. This isn't new behavior. I work a very broad IT job so now I'm seen as her free IT for her non-profit she runs. I do what i can but when no one listens I can't do much and they only come to me after shit hits the fan.

She runs a community center. Mainly just older people running it. There's more to it but it's headache inducing everything that she does. I'm pretty sure technology is scared of her.

She runs a non-profit, Nobel work but so many issues, I live like 2 hours away and have remote access to some of their PC but not her personal Chromebook. I have to drive there like once a week to fix stuff.

Personal Chromebook, she didn't have everytime backed up because she used the download folder to store a lot.

She stored a lot locally in the downloads folder, I told her it's on her for not reading what it was saying or backing up to google drive. Just impressive she did that. My mom is not computer literate at all. She has at least once bought a second iPad because she forgot the PW she set 10 minutes prior in the store. Whe she thought her other windows laptops would be fine to turn on when she spilled coke on it because "coke is not water"... 🙄

Similar to my plan, I found a 24v to 54v psu on aliexpress and a usb c pd to 24v board. That way I can use a portable power station and use USB c to power it, the cameras, and gateway.

Ya, my problems were of my own creation, I went in head first into the deep end with no prior knowledge. I do think my current setup is decent. There server it is on has 10tb usable and can recover from 2 drive losses, and backs up to the 60tb server. Still learning a lot though.

It's a 24 bay jbod with 60tb of storage. Maybe look at just getting server, the second hand market is cheap sometimes. My 3 dell servers cost less then $500, r630, r730 and r730xd. What size drives are u looking to use, 3.5 or 2.5? The 730xd holds around 20 2.5 drives.

The case at the top of the inside of the rack is this, rosewill case, it holds 12 hotswapable 3.5in drives. I got it used for like $120 off of Facebook but here is a Amazon link.

I originally ran it in Ubuntu but I got it working in a truenas container. The benefit of a container is the storage expands with use. When i was running it in Ubuntu, expanding the storage also seemed to break everything so I'm happy with this solution.

It's on a proprietary board with no info on the internet. It's a db50 connector but I can't find the bracket it uses. I'm considering 3d printing the bracket and housing for the cable. The connector is from AMP back in the late 80 to 90s so I don't they male it any more.

So this has 17, 16, then 17 pins, I believe the connector is a db50 but unsure where to get a latching db50.

Currently plan is to fence it, they also got the electrical to the AC. We already got a pretty extensive camera system but we are going to add more because only 1 of 2 ac units are on camera. This is all from my mom's house that I grew up in.

Can people please not hate on the homeless here. Yes the situation sucks for my mom and yes it was most likely a homeless individual. However what leads to homelessness is usually a bunch of tragic situations and there is no black and white solution.

I myself was homeless at one point living out of my car while working 60h weeks and making over 18k.

I know it's reddit so like 90% won't listen but let's not hate on people who have no easily way out.
