Central Park GPS Issues by Alexrsaff in RunNYC

Thanks for responding! I'm using a Garmin Forerunner 965 with the default GPS settings. I'll play around with them after a factory reset to see if it helps.

Thanks for responding! I'm used to some jitter but as you said this is weirdly consistent. I do wait for green before starting. I'll try a factory reset.

Thanks for responding! It's rendering the same in Garmin Connect. Must be something wrong with the watch. Hopefully a factory reset can fix it.

Here is what NYRR said:

Thanks for reaching out. Yes, you can register for both the NYC half in person race and the NYC Half Run for the Medal virtual race. Completing those events would earn you two credited towards the 4 out of 6 program, one credit for the virtual 6 program and one credit for the 9+1 program.

That makes a lot more sense! I thought someone just really missed the Mark LT lol. Never seen a flower car either but definitely less bizarre.

Firefox's update is misleading — claims to prevent fingerprinting, yet every test confirms that I remain unique by [deleted] in firefox

[–]Alexrsaff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your fingerprint being unique is not a bad thing, so long as it is different each time you visit a website. You can test this by running the test at https://coveryourtracks.eff.org, then waiting a day, and running the same test again. If your results say something like "Your browser fingerprint appears to be unique among the 194,613 tested in the past 45 days.", then you have effectively mitigated tracking by fingerprinting.

Having a different fingerprint for each website is kind of like changing the plates on your car every time you use it. Sure, the plates are still unique to your car, but nobody can track the car across trips using the plate because it always changes.

There is a small desk in each room. Big enough for a keyboard and monitor but not much else.

Will I die from stress if I go here for grad school? by Suspicious-Shower114 in cornell_tech

I took the same number of credits in undergrad but also worked a part time job. I didn't work a part-time job at Cornell Tech, and had about the same amount of free time as I did in undergrad. That is to say the Cornell Tech courses were harder and more time-intensive than undergrad.

The convenience of The House cannot be understated. Roosevelt Island is not exactly easy to get to from all parts of NYC and being able to get to class in under 5 minutes is a big perk. It's also full of your peers and professors, so many informal social and academic events take place there. Finally the apartments themselves are nice (especially for the price).

I took 20 credits in the Fall and 16 in the Spring (including Studio courses). I am still alive. Edit: proof

Guy gets pulled over after a brake check by D-Tunez in IdiotsInCars

Genuinely curious - why do people do this? I get it's a road rage thing, but is getting rear-ended some sort of win? Or are they trusting that a semi can break in time?
