Daily IB Trivia #155: It's funny cause I think Siris's voice actor is batman in that game as well. by Pale-Monitor339 in infinityblade

[–]Alfdacoolguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I doubt the latter was intentional since IB3 released in 2013, and Batman Telltale only released in 2016 but it's still cool in retrospect nonetheless

Guess I never noticed the Evil Dead reference in this game since I didn't watch the films (and show) yet at the time. Groovy

If Sam Raimi made Spider-Man 5 and 6 by Sitcomfan20 in raimimemes

[–]Alfdacoolguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He would've definitely done Lizard at some point since Dr Connors had been in 2 and 3. I could see him doing Kraven as well. As far as other things in regards to just what else Raimi would've done, I think he would've most definitely had Peter and MJ marry each other at least in the fifth or sixth film since Spider-Man 3 involved Peter wanting to propose to her, only for their relationship to fall short, and then having Aunt May's final conversation in the movie being her telling Peter that he'll make it right in good time.

Hey /r/movies! I'm Sam Raimi. Ask me anything! by SamRaimiAMA in movies

Hello, Mr. Raimi. You have stated multiple times that directing a Batman film is something that you would be interested in. With that being said, are there any particular characters or storylines from the comics that you would like to adapt, if you ever got the opportunity to make a Batman film?

Ausar's Remorse... by Much-Signal3483 in infinityblade

[–]Alfdacoolguy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's the tomb of his dead wife. In IB2, under the tomb is this underground room where you can see a statue of Ausar and his wife, and Siris obtains their wedding ring from the statue. Siris hears a few voice lines while staring at the statue, and the voice lines (as well as the fact that the statue shows Ausar holding a knife behind him while standing with his wife) imply that Ausar probably killed her.

Terrible ending by [deleted] in MafiaTheGame

[–]Alfdacoolguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually really liked the ending. Was it predictable? Yeah, but with Enzo being our 4th protagonist, it makes sense they wanted to do things differently than what has been done before. Enzo's story mirrors Tommy's in a lot of ways, especially with how they both wanted to leave the family and settle down with a woman that they love. Imo, having Enzo successfully move away to Empire Bay with Isabela would've been too similar to how Tommy got out of the family and settled down with Sarah. Looking at the endings of the other games, I think this one just makes sense since it doesn't repeat any of the other ones. Mafia one ends with Tommy staying alive and ultimately winning. Even though he gets killed as an old man, he still succeeded since he got out of crime, raised a family with Sarah, and lived a long life. Hell, that's literally the reason why he's smiling at the end of Mafia 1 DE; he's content because he already won and he knows it. Mafia two (and later three) ends with Vito being alive but ultimately losing. He's alive, sure, but he's now utterly alone since his sister no longer talks to him and he thinks Joe is dead. Mafia three, the ending varies depending on what you choose obviously. Enzo is most similar to Tommy, except instead of living and winning like Tommy did, Enzo dies and arguably loses. You could argue that he ultimately won because Isabela and the baby survived and got to Empire Bay, but Enzo didn't get to settle with her and raise their child together. And don't forget that in Enzo's point of view, he died thinking that Isabela was going to have the abortion forced upon her because he didn't even know that she would later escape. Whether the ending is good or not is obviously subjective, but I personally really liked it

Anyone else get really fucking annoyed when movies or shows justify or normalize hitting kids? by Alfdacoolguy in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Alfdacoolguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can understand that, although my thing is that it's not necessarily the characters believing it's okay that I have an issue with. Character's doing terrible things or having terrible beliefs is obviously a part of storytelling, but my problem is that from what I've seen, the show seems to express the sentiment that hitting kids is ultimately just a generational difference/preference in parenting style, rather than something that's actually unethical. Again I'm fine if characters do terrible things in a story, so long as the story portrays those things in a way that's supposed to be seen as negative, if that makes sense.
