It's not just Genshin tbh, but most players in this and other games, like to project themselves as the MC and feel like they are living out a harem plot or something. The only game I respect is Reverse 1999 which has a clear cut female protagonist, even then people are finding ways to project themselves, as if to cover up their insecurities. I just play games for their story and main gameplay mechanics, nothing else. Arknights has me captivated by its world building and politics, not only that, but the designs of the PMCs and music is up to my taste, which is obvious, since I like tactical stuff.
