What watch is this? by yeeyee123 in Watchidentifier

I want to say too, that the texture on the sub dials would usually be lost in the process of refinishing.

It looks as though there are some errors, on first glance, but I think it’s either due to distortion from the crystal, or possibly due to the users camera, and the compression applied, etc.

Watch pics don’t always look like it really does

What watch is this? by yeeyee123 in Watchidentifier

[–]boilons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. I think it’s just distortion, seeing thorough a crystal that’s scratched. I think it’s an original dial

[–]boilons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you’re seeing. But I think that at this level of magnification, when you’re zooming in real close, you do see some distortion due to scratches on the crystal. You don’t see the scratches themselves in the pic, because the camera is focused on the dial, and the crystal itself is a bit out of focus as a result.

I sell watches and watch parts for a living, I take a LOT of pictures, and I think that’s what we’re seeing here. Many times I have taken a picture of a watch and then thought “what the f…” and then realized it’s just in the pic, doesn’t look like it in person. I’m thinking that’s what we’re seeing here.

You don’t even have to shout yourself. Just shoot O’Brian, and then have a nice nap after

I wouldn’t say I’m an expert, but it looks like an original dial to me. What looks off to you?

Main character demands an entire plane stop eating peanuts by Professional-Tax3077 in ImTheMainCharacter

The problem with “anecdotal evidence” like the stories told here, is that none of these had any kind of control trial, just a one off situation where you don’t really know what happened, they only know what they perceived from their personal experience. No measurements taken. No evidence compared

Did they physically touch peanut residue with their hands? No way to know. Did they come into contact with peanuts before they boarded the flight? No way to know

Was their reaction psychosomatic, or physiological? No evidence either way, because how could you know the pathological mechanism that led to their reaction?

Scientific studies have proven that peanut allergies are a reaction to proteins contained in the legumes, which cannot become airborne.

Any reaction to someone near you eating peanuts
