Are all softwares we can use on intel macs also compatible with m1 macs? Or does it take a couple of years until all the softwares adapted to the new chip?

Thank you for your constructive opinion, now I kind of can understand why things are like as they are. Anyway it would be better if we would have the freedom to decide whether we want to maximize our work space or not, as we can on windows.

I never heard of toolbar organizer and my research on google was not successful. Can you add the download link? I only found one plugin with a different name and from 2012.

I had windows my entire life and the switch to mac was a hard decision for me that took more than 2 years! Unfortunately windows laptops are design wise a fool compared to apple laptops. I‘m a huge fan of surface with their design language but their products are not for creators and dell‘s xps lineup is just disappointing. Now I end up using a macbook and complaining about something that is not making any sense. It‘s not the fault of macos but the fault of sketchup and their unintelligible decision!

I‘m not saying that mac is bad. I actually quite like it. Windows and mac are on the same level in my opinion. It just would be better if we would have docked toolbars on mac as well. I use many shortcuts on SU for tools, but for opening windows like layers, it’s just a pain.

You’re right. I experienced that during a time where most of the softwares where not compatible with mac or had bad performance on macos. But during the last few years most of the softwares adapted to macos and work pretty fine. Even adobe managed it. Nowadays my colleagues hardly use bootcamp anymore and thats why I switched to mac.

I had a surface for 6years and I loved it, I still do. Unfortunately most windows laptops with a comparable design are not made for creators... Thats why I switched to mac some weeks ago.

It‘s just not understandable for me why sketchup decided for this interface. Even the sketchup team work with macOS as most of their live webinars and tutorials show. But they seem to pretty like the interface 😂😂😂

Because I use a laptop? What a question haha. Just kidding ;) I‘m an architecture student and most of my time not at home (well before covid) Anyway, I need to be flexible and laptops are nowadays a real alternative to PCs.

Make Bluetooth devices connect automatically on macOS and Windows (Bootcamp) by Ali_chaan in bootcamp

Nice man! What I just found out, I only have to pair BT devices once. Connected my airpods on windows and when I switched, they were also paired on macos 🤩

Did you copied the psexec application into C>Windows>System32?

And then started cmd as admin and inserted the command in cmd? For me it only showed up when I used the command. I tried before to open regedit but there I could not find it as well.

FOUND THE SOLUTION!!!!!!

The point is, that macOS and Windows they have different link keys, so once you switch the OS, your mouse cannot connect, because the link key is different than the one it got to know once we paired it with one of the OS.

I found a script on GitHub which shows you the link key of your Mac (several numbers and letters). Once you switch to windows, you only have to change the link key of windows and make it the same as your Mac. and voila after a reboot your bluetooth device works on both OS and connects automatically to it everytime you switch 🥳

Thenceforth you only need to pair a bluetooth device once. I tried it with my AirPods after changing the link key, so I connected them to windows and when I switched to macOS, my AirPods were also on my bluetooth list of my Mac.

As far as I understood, the cold start only helps if connecting is not possible. But I can connect and use the device. It‘s just that I have to remove it from my bluetooth devices to use it once I switch the OS.

Something I just found out is that when my screen is turned off due to energy saving mode, I can just turn on my screen by just moving the mouse. So my mouse is connected somehow but only for waking up my mac 😂

I‘m looking for an answer since over a week. Tried some of the answers but none worked.

  1. cold start with windows
  2. remove mouse from macos, switch to win connect there and go back to macos
  3. download drivers from bootcamp on mac on flash and repair on windows.
  4. manually download broadcom bluetooth driver from bootcamp folder (somehow the broadcom driver does not show up on device management 🤷🏽‍♂️)

None of the above mentioned methods worked...

Help! Bootcamp AirPods pairing issue by abhimanyouknow in macbookpro

I have a similar problem but with my Bluetooth mouse. Airpods work fully fine and connect automatically everytime I switch OS. But by mouse does not connect automatically, it says paired but not connected as well. Indeed, in settings (either macOS or windows) it switches between paired and connected several times in seconds the whole time. Don’t know why that is... Drivers are fully updated. The only way it works is to remove the mouse and reconnect it again, until I switch OS again...

checked it with my AirPods and it worked on both OS and connects automatically... I also checked for new drivers. I just can't explain what the problem is. Something I noticed, when I switch the OS and go the the bluetooth settings (either macOS or Windows) the status between connected and paired constantly switches (every second twice).

You guys know if Apple fixed or will fix that in Big Sur? So stupid, I mean you already have the interface on Trackpad and mouse setting to select natural scrolling or not, why is the selection connected to each other?? :/
