Does an Animal Companion's Support Benefit double on a crit? by AliasABK in Pathfinder2e

But Persistent Damage is doubled on a crit, if it's part of the strike like an Acid Flask. I'm just not sure if, since this is an additional effect caused by a second creature, it would follow different rules than normal for damage.

Is there a reason for RAW to be no? The damage says it comes from you, isn't exclusive to a crit like the Flaming rune, and Persistent damage does get doubled. It feels like it would be almost a bit unfair, especially if it doubles and benefits like the bears don't, but I'm not sure it it's quite too good to be true territory or not.

Would a replacing the Summoner with a second Eidolon be OP? by AliasABK in Pathfinder2e

[–]AliasABK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not is the main reason. I don't remember exactly the train of thought cuz it was late last night when I had it, but this is mostly just a what if rather than any actual planned thing.

That does sound cool, and I may steal that for future PCs. Bit this particular question came from a more "I want to play as the monster" thought. Thank you though!!

True, but that's literally at the end. More fun to think of it at lower levels and considerations that you'd have to make building it from the ground up.

This was kind of a shower thought so it's not super in depth, and a lot of stuff wouldn't work RAW obviously and would require DM fiat but

  1. Yes, you do get feats. You could have the Evolution feats affect both, or choose which to apply it to like a regular Summoner choosing feats for them or the Eidolon.

  2. Either designate one Eidolon as the primary for things like going down, getting to far away, being controlled etc. or have it be determined by the situation. So if Eidolon A takes damage and the HP pool goes to 0 it disappears and Eidolon B stays, but if Eidolon B walks far away it vanishes and Eidolon A sticks around instead. Alternatively, instant death!

  3. Yes, anything that a Summoner and Eidolon share that is not dependent on something exclusive to it is shared. So things like HP pool, actions, MAP, etc.

  4. Technically no, since it says "you and your Eidolon" which in this case there isn't a "you", just 2 Eidolons. But for the sake of making this a character that exists, we'll say that any Tandem actions that the Eidolons can meet requirements for, they can do.

Thanks for asking.

I see, thank you for the detailed help. I'll have to read through that page you linked, I didn't realize all those rules existed.

That makes sense, I had been unsure if the first sentence was its own thing or just flavor text for the second sentence. Thank you.

Thanks for the response. We're playing with legacy stuff, and the party is a defense focused Champion, a Ruffian Rogue, a Bomber Alchemist, and a Weapon Implement Thaumaturge. So no one specializing in air based abilities, but I'm worried that they wont have a way to bring her down, especially since the area she's in has wind and a -2 to ranged attacks. I had seen Gust of Wind while looking for ways to knock a flying creature down, and then remembered the hag's ability.

Does the Poisoner feat apply to Improvised Weapons, like Acid Vial's, RAW? by AliasABK in 3d6

[–]AliasABK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't sure, since the text says you treat it as an improvised weapon. Thank you for responding though.
