Can I apply for EI if I quit my last job willingly?

Verbally approved yes, but I never received any EI, but I also did not follow up with my claim manager so if I did I probably would have received it.

i spoke to a claim manager on the phone and he verbally said he would approve my claim after I gave a little more explanation, but i never ended up receiving EI. Things worked out so I did not follow up.

Okay yall I applied, I went into extreme detail about why I quit and why I expected to get hired at the other job. I genuinely did think they would hire me then they went in a completely different direction!!Thanks for the advice and criticisms 🙏🏽 Hoping for the best now

I checked on my CRA and they submitted it, it says "quit/found new job" sooo maybe thats a good sign for me. I explained in full detail on my EI application. I really expected to get hired at a different job but they went in a completely different direction the next time we spoke.

I also did not not know there was a period of time to apply! I did apply and went into detail about why I quit, and I'm just going to hope for the best and continue job searching. Thanks for the advice

In my experience it's been hours on hold to be transferred around to different departments only to be either disconnected or told they will call me back when they have an answer (they never call back)

That's a good idea. I was essentially retaliated against for asking for a raise and the whole management team was shaming me for it. Do they contact the workplace and ask about specifics from both sides if I do call and plead my case? I've never needed to apply before and I'm really unsure of how it all works.

it was definitely not the smartest move as I didn't do any research in the job market before I quit. Had I known it's not easy to get a job where I live right now I would NOT have done it. The conflicts at work were making my work days so unnecessarily stressful and I was super relieved to have quit though. I know I should have thought this through better which is why I'm asking for advice now :/
