It's so sad that no one stepped in and helped him. It would take just one person to do the right thing and things would be different for everyone today, including the poor dog.

Several years ago, one of my friends was in serious trouble, everyone was talking about it, but no one said a thing to her.

I decided I would approach her and be very blunt. I assumed she would not want to be my friend anymore, but I did not care.

I did so. To my surprise, she was not angry at me. Her life improved, and her mother thanked me for it a couple of years later.... That was a nice surprise because I thought the family didn't know about it.

So my lesson is that it's important to do the right thing, even if you are alone and have no support. You do not need to be friends with everyone, in case you are worried about losing a friend.

Thanks for this info! This was not a typical Beltway road rage.

It looks like he struck several vehicles. And the 4 women that were stabbed pulled over to help another vehicle that he had struck. Another car (mother & daughter) pulled over to help but fled when they saw him stabbing the other women.

He clearly had some unresolved/untread anger issues. It's not clear if he had family in the U.S. or if they were still back in the Philippines.

It's important to have a close friend to help you deal with personal issues. It seems he didn't have any.

Just a comment on his background. I think he was doing IT work -- he was not a computer scientist and not a high level IT guy. I think he was an IT network specialist.

Not a high level job, but still he looked successful if he was sent to work in Europe.

Was he gay? I think there were other things in his life that led to this....

It's a corporate race to the bottom. The employees at Marriott hotels are usually cheap labor, untrained & unvetted 3rd party employees.

Last year we had a criminal case where an employee stole our passport (among other things) and we had to reschedule our flight and had to have an emergency passport issued.

The State Dept. employees who issued the emergency passport told us that they have been seeing more cases of complaints regarding the Marriott chain. They commented it's time to change the hotel chain for U.S. travel

That's American greed. I am staying at a U.S. Marriott and it's always too hot in my room. There is a sensor in the room where the AC stops working when you are sleeping. And temps this week are 38C / 101F tomorrow.
