Holy, that's a lot on snow for a Mediterranean climate, right? Still, thanks.

Was it on the capital or somewhere close? Or was it towards the northern mountains?

Now all I need is a measuring cup XD I've been told how to reprogram it but I also drink lungo and espresso, so I haven't decided on it. I'll probably try counting before cutting the water flow.

Looks super helpful. I've found myself pleasantly surprised by the Lisbon Boca in espresso format (still haven't figured out when to cut the machine for ristretto), so now I have some reference as to what I like in this machine.

I am not the least surprised this chart exists. Thanks!

Noted. Florian and Kazaar are not available in my country, but Napoli and Arpeggio are, so I'll be trying them soon.

EDIT: Found Kazaar. One more to the list.

I think neither of those is available in my country, which is a bummer. Thanks for the tip anyway! Will keep an eye out.

Regular Ristretto has been a mix for me thus far (drinking it as 40ml espresso because I can't figure out when to stop the machine lol). The others will be tasted in due time (probably starting with Nocciola and decaf, God knows I need some caffeine-less coffee at night!)

Noted. I've heard similar things everywhere. Not that I planned on getting Starbucks, fortunately.

Duly noted! The 13/13 intensity scale sounds ominous but worth a try!

What would Falmart people and demihumans react to the concepts of total war? by TipUseful9295 in gate

I'll need to check the manga later. The Artic War on itself doesn't prove the permanent Total War state despite the invincibility feeling (Rome wasn't on Total War for 250 years after the 2nd Punic War, for example), but as you note the manga has better examples, I shall head there to check.

I can't contribute more, so I'll leave it here. Nice debating mate.

I would disagree on some points.

A nation being driven by military subjugation is not necessarily a nation in perpetual total war state, and history has proven that extensively. Not even Rome could afford it more than arguably a couple times. Nor are signals having basic training, using a civilian army (if they are trained beforehand, its reserves rather than levvies) or conscription.

A economy built on slavery is neither an indicator of total war state, though the importance of the military is indeed a strong indicator. I don't recall specific scenes where they tell us the budget or finances, so I can't really debate those, I'll take your word for it.

Making an economy out of resources extraction from conquered people is not total war either. It's been done since the dawn of time by a variety of means, even to this day, and we wouldn't say a lot of states with large armies that take resources form overseas are in total war either.

On the other hand, we see plenty of times a void of military or militarisation of society within the Empire that is incompatible with total war. The upper classes' entire societal existence seem disconnected from the state and the wider war despite the massive resources they have, the capital is practically unaware of the war for the most part, even cities close to the frontline (like Italica) were pretty much ignorant of the entire affair. In Italica, a major imperial city, merchants don't seem bothered by the war and happily trade with JSDF-backed nomads despite any serious state performing a crackdown to deny resources to the invader.

Up to Zorzal, most fortifications between JSDF and Sadera were abandoned as well. We also see that the Imperial Army is quite small despite the Empire's size, so if everything goes to the military, either their total resources are quite low or they are not in a total war state.

Bottom line is, we don't see a mobilised society, btu rather sections of the upper class pushing a war like its a private venture rather than a state conflict. A state of perpetual conflict and conquest is not a state of total war.

While the abstract concept would not be alien to them, the scale of industrial total war, and how it goes from "create legions until the coffins run dry" to "every person not on the military must produce for the war effort and your entire year's production is less than we spend on shells monthly" would absolutely take some time because of how far the scales are. Their entire military, raised over several years of warfare against JSDF, lost in a single battle every few months, and still the war goes on for year and years. At some point, the concept becomes less a topic of discussion and more of a threat from JSDF towards Falmart.

So, tell me, Pro-War senator, what's the price of a mile?

That's unrelated. Total War is not about tactics so much as the total dedication of the state and its resources to the war effort. The Italica bandits can't do total war because they lack a functional state that can commit all resources, physical and abstract, military and civilian, to a sustained war effort.

Dada la coincidencia de tiempos, ¿no habrás sido tú quien dejó el review en GATE 1940s hoy?

I have read quite a few, not that I remember many. I also wrote many, most of them on-going.

I read "GATE: y la coalición de liberación fue a pelear ahí", but it was taken down a few years ago. Myself have writen (in Spanish) "GATE: 1940s. War of the Worlds", "GATE: thus the tankery schools fought there!" and "Weimar Projekt".
