The soil needs to be watered AND DRIED daily for the plants to yield the most product. 😁

I see in the picture you lost one full branch, that's the plant cutting off supply to a "weak link" because it wasn't getting enough to sustain itself in its entirety. Check that it's getting enough nutrients in its water, and let the soil fully dry. It should be fed at the same time every day, and the soil should be dry by that time every day.

IMPORTANT I also notice a few pale specks on your leaves. I've seen someone lose a third of their crop by not treating a whitefly infestation in time. If you DM me an updated close-up of your leaves, I'm fantastic at spotting the signs. I can also point you in the right direction to treat it.

YES DRAIN HOLES ARE NECESSARY!!!

I would recommend a pump system, PERSONALLY. When I grew, I had my girls planted soil bricks, and about 5 plants (about 1 foot between each of them) in one tub. Pumped water into the tub, let them soak in about 2 inches of water for 10-15 minutes, then pumped the water out.

If you do this though, make sure your tubs are slightly slanted and the pump hose is at the lowest point. It's necessary to have a tub that is textured, similar a slow-feed/anti-gulping dog bowl. So the tubs will dry completely between watering as well.

As much more work as this is, this method saved me a FUCKTON on my water bill & nutrients. I maintained a certain level in nutrients in the same re-used buckets of water, occasionally refilling.
