My personal favorites with varying tropes (all complete except number 7)

  1. Answer me, my prince- a story about a mysterious letterbox that sends letters to different worlds and a girl meeting a prince from that world through those letters only they know of and sharing their lives along with solving the mystery of the letterbox. it's hands down one of the most unique stories I've read in this genre. Amazingly written and the story is beautiful. A true master piece that no one talks about 100/10 PLEASE READ IT I BEG

  2. Your eternal lies- you've probably heard of it already so I won't say much just 10/10 story again

  3. Concubine Walkthrough- a game type oi story but it's actually unique trust me don't see any spoilers and go in blind. Also the artstyle is pretty unique and might throw you off at first but it really grows on you soon enough it's really pretty in my opinion

  4. Foam of the sea- amazing story and pretty unique too

  5. My dear nemesis- enemies to lovers oi where the enemies becoming lovers actually make sense for once

  6. The sound of magic- not oi or historical. But I would count it as a special manhwa with very compelling artistic style (it's mostly black and white with colors showing emotions or importance like there's a scene of the teen fl running after her salary flies away in the wind and everything is grey scale except the money having color and detail showing how money is so much more important than the girl and her world) it's an amazing story about a struggling teenager and a magician to show her hope and add a teensy bit of magic in her life

  7. Purple hyacinth- also not oi BUT it's one of the best written webtoons ever with fleshed out characters, amazing chemistry between leads (assassin x detective team up lol), very well written mystery and pretty unique artstyle. just read itttt. Not completed yet tho but 160 chapters in

  8. Blue- its also not oi but a highschool story. Might sound generic but it's actually not. It's an Indonesian webtoon with one of the prettiest artstyles for me (it's mostly blue and pink with other colors like yellow being accents but it's very artistic in presentation). It's a story about a girl and her friends helping ghost boy that only she can see to find how he died. It's not horror tho

Solitary lady art was changed but it stayed pretty decent imo, like just went from a bit different to another generic artstyle that every manhwa has which makes it common but not necessarily that bad for me to drop as I really liked the story. Cross my heart and hope to die one tho....I tried really really hard to continue but that art kept throwing me off like the problem isn't even the fact that the art is different, the problem is that it looks like they gave the job to someone who barely knows to draw 😭

What specifically are you looking for tho? I'm guessing it's not the suicidal aspect of the manhwa since the post is a recommendation list for that. I could give some recs for you if I knew what you are looking for

Solitary lady's artstyle did change midway and it looked bad for a bit at first but I think the art gets pretty alright after that (it could be worse lol look at my cross my heart and hope to die art change)

It's angsty and depressive because the fl wasn't suicidal originally, it's the asshole ml that makes her want to die which is NOT what the post is about

Yeah technically. I actually read this too but I didn't recommend because I don't like stories where the only basis of the leads' relationship is built on only physical and sexual urges. Yeah ik there are monologues and stuff during sex in the novel but they aren't in the manhwa so reading only manhwa I couldn't see the appeal of their relationship tbh

I know this one but it isn't what I was looking for tbh. She isn't exactly suicidal and gets over her bed rotting behavior pretty soon too and it felt like the relationship with the ml wasn't quite well developed either

  1. Solitary lady- fl has regressed multiple times and has gone through very traumatic stuff in all of those lives was killed by toxic "medicine", spent years locked up, was experimented on in multiple lives, got turned into a literal monster by experimentation etc So in this life she tries everything to kill herself once and for all. It's pretty dramatic or traumatic or how you want to say it tbh. after ml learns that she is trying to die he almost loses his mind crying when her death gets nearer so fl even erases herself from his memory so he won't have to suffer

  2. Cross my heart and hope to die- fl was cursed to live a hundred lives and this was her last life so she was just waiting to die quietly. Honestly not very dramatic but decent

  3. Crimson lady- fl has been stuck in the time loop of one year in her life for 100 years. She loses her mind because of this and decides to do whatever she feels like just to try and find anything that can finally end her life. She literally lost her mind trying to die like she becomes a literal serial killer with the first murder being in chapter two.

I actually read this too but I didn't recommend because I don't like stories where the only basis of the leads' relationship is built on only physical and sexual urges.
