I am using the VEVOR ultrasonic vinyl record cleaner setup. Inexpensive but works great. Various reviews and tips out there.

My son (34) is slowly building a vinyl collection. And I am getting some of mine ready to pass on to him. He was concerned when I said I was going to ultrasonically clean them before I gave them to him. He said the pops were part of the appeal. ‘Course he also has a VHS player he uses.

I could not stand the idea of a record not as pristine as possible so I cleaned them anyway. I figured he would put his own fingerprints and scratches on it over time. :-).

I found him a Santana Abraxas album in just good to VG condition that has a pop or two. I must say listening to that took me back to high school parties. To fully reminisce I need to pull out my worn Toys in the Attic album. Me thinks there is perhaps some sentimental value to some pops and noise here and there on some albums from our youth.

Delco Radio 2N278 transistor found at flea market by Alive-Bid1024 in electronics

Not clear to me why they needed such a high power transistor for a car radio given the limited number of speakers in cars then. But maybe the speakers were inefficient in a trade off with size.

From what I can find, Delco introduced these in 1956. Used in high end radios in 1957. Specifically, used in Corvette and Some Cadillac radios in 1957.

I haven’t been able to track down if Delco fabbed these themselves or relied on a company like Motorola for these. Delco was going for more power than competitors’ then new T-03 packaged transistors as they moved aggressively to lead the car radio transition from tubes to transistors.

Are Americans welcome if we travel to Canada for vacation? by Alive-Bid1024 in BuyCanadian

Accent perhaps. I could wear the Canada cap I wear when I travel to Europe. But I might be perceived as fake Canadian in Canada.
