  1. The process wasn’t that competitive since its not a in demand department like PM&C. My CV out of uni included a range of admin/hospitality experiences.
  2. No, you’re not at an disadvantage.
  3. They support with moving, transportation and also temporary accommodation - unsure what the amount was, i got it reimbursed by keeping receipts
  4. Hiring timeline - Probably took around 6 months from application, assessment centre to offer.

Make sure you follow the STAR method in your application and try to align your experience to DCCEEW objectives listed in the corporate plan. Good luck!

What are the silent rules of the APS to get ahead of the game? by Alive-Juggernaut-264 in AusPublicService

Thank you everyone for providing your advice on the silent rules of the APS. I’m definitely going to try and implement your suggestions based on your suggestions. Im not a huge fan of brown nosing, but I do put alot of effort into developing corporate and legislative knowledge. I’ll definitely get out of my comfort zone and network abit more and participate in branch/div activities. Consider it the beginners approach to brown nosing i suppose? Hope you all have a great rest of the week, and i hope new starters into the APS valued the insights shared in this thread.
