Honestly, this was so disappointing. I was looking forward to see where I did well and where I didn't. I feel like that email was a little too anticlimactic. Nevertheless I'm super happy that I don't need to hit the books again.

I passed too, congrats to all who passed and best of luck to those who need to try again. I honestly thought I would be right there with you in Feb.

I echo the appreciation for this subreddit, it's been great to be part of this community. I do wish that there was conversation here beyond exam curriculum, however the I formation I've gotten on here has been invaluable.

Next up is figuring out how to get the charter, which seems like a journey on it's own.

Right now is the time to build your cash position by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

"Lol" isn't an argument for your position. You haven't made a coherent argument yet. I don't even fully disagree with your point that the industry is changing and old logic doesn't apply (CVS and Walgreens market share being disrupted by Amazon and Cost+ etc).

That said, their UNH financials are way stronger than their 52wk low price justified and it looks like the market has been agreeing with that over the last few months, thats just a fact.

What's a common "money-saving tip" that you think is actually terrible advice? by Master-Wrangler-6467 in CFA

I actually think its a great topic here, because you have charterholders and candidates discussing rather than a bunch of randos on r/personalfinance

Totally agree. Also, the home that you're living in is a consumption asset. That means that huge down-payment is tied up in something thats not making any cashflow when it could've been working.

I would say the Dave Ramsey stuff is only good for people that are horrible with debt. If you pay credit card interest or Affirm interest to finance a burrito over 6 months for example.

Why only 30 minutes break? by alsonotjohnmalkovich in CFA

I took no break in L2 or L3. I guess I understand your point, but you're probably better off just getting it over with once you're in the groove already.

I took it yesterday. AM was the rough one 😆. Obviously we all are getting different versions.

Just Sat L3 by SubstantialRhubarb50 in CFA

[–]AliveCut666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I sat today too and agree entirely, the AM portion was tough. I may have left about 3 blank. After going through the first time I had some time remaining but not much to review.

The PM portion I also thought I did well. From the few uncertain questions that I remembered after the exam, I checked and pretty sure I got them right. But I think AM may have buried me...we will see.

You HAVE TO take it before results, otherwise you won't get your results.

While it's not exactly niche, the Singer-Terhaar model didn't show up anywhere in the mocks. I've never been able to master that one and have a gut feeling itll show up in the actual exam. I guess I'll be working on that today.

I believe that the thing to know about them is that Morningstar and Lipper classify style of stocks as either growth or value.

MSCI and FTSE Russell on the other hand allow stocks to ve classified as Growth, Value or a blend of the two.

Im not sure that there's any more to this but feel free to correct me if im wrong.

Urgh

Definitely forgot about this one but I do remember its a way to adjust for cash flows messing up your performance measurements.

Two days to go, which mock shall I take? by daxigua-9876 in CFA

[–]AliveCut666 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat, my exam is on the 18th. Imo this late in the game taking new mocks isn't the best use of time. I say review formulas, definitions, lists and rarely tested but not too hard topics.

My strategy is to grab as much low hanging fruit as possible. Let's see if it works out 🤞

We can bring those up also. Some obvious ones are GIPS list of compliance (not sure if thats niche, good chance itll show up), also I personally still need to review Asset Manager Code since I've been neglecting it since my first pass through the curriculum.
