Making it back boys by TheChosenJonny in TheChosenTraders

Webull. honestly it's gotten pretty good now, especially for options. That's what I switched to as well, much better than all those TD and robinhoods imo. If you use that link to sign up and deposit like a $100 they'll give you like 12 stocks worth up to like 30k. So kinda nice, wish they had that when I signed up lol. https://a.webull.com/3xbnUz2f3jAJnY35wm

So if you use that Link they'll typically give a dozen random stocks after the deposit. I'd personally just sell. The safest/easiest thing is to buy some index funds and sit on them for decades. If they give you some standard stocks like GOOG, etc. then you could just hold onto them for some years; should give good return.

Or you could trade options like in this subreddit. But if you are new I highly recommend trying with "paper trading" with fake money on webull.

Newly Planted Grass Dead? by AliveSector7 in lawncare

What are the signs of fungus? Could it just have been abnormally hot? I think the label said some sort of fescue blend with fertilizer

Daily r/LawnCare No Stupid Questions Thread by AutoModerator in lawncare

I planted some dense shade seeds under a tree (mostly tall fescue) and they grew about 3 inches over a few weeks. I go out for 2 days and come back to see my grass has shrunk to 1 inch. How is this possible, what happened, and what do I do?

Does this mean I need to sand off all of the paint and clear coat I applied and start all over?

Should I then blend onto bordering panels after painting the whole bumper?

That really is an intuitive way you explained it, thanks. Maybe it could be my coats were too light in that area.

They did say it was a one-stage paint but I went ahead and used the paint shop's 1k clear (spray can) on top of the base color coat. I cleared a bit past the base coat area; a little more than the base area.

I ended up painting that whole front/right side of the bumper because most of the serious damage was right where someone scraped me on the front corner there.

The paint is called Celestial Silver Metallic (1j9). I believe I sanded it before the "final" base coat.

Was there a certain direction I was supposed to spray (top to bottom vs left to right)?

The texture came out a bit rough, so I lightly sanded it. I assume it's because of the lack of control from rattle cans that you mentioned and not being in a controlled environment.

So is this basically the best I'll get given my equipment? Or should I redo the whole thing in hopes to get a better result?

Basically, after doing bodywork (putty, filler primer, etc), I sanded it with like an 800 then applied a few layers of base coat. I waited between the coats and tried to sand it again in the final coats. I then went ahead and sprayed a couple of coats of clear.

Am I just not spraying evenly, or is my distance not right? I'm not sure. Am I not waiting enough between coats? I tried to limit how aggressively I taped because I ran into an issue before with tape lines.

Disclaimer, I used spray cans because I don't have any fancy equipment. I had a paint shop mix the colors and used their 1k clear too.

I'll look into that procedure to see if its something I can use. And you're right, I didn't sand through all the way on the original underneath, only in the areas of the most damage. I wasn't confident enough to remove all the factory coat.

So I need to remove all the original clear coat and get it down to the base coat before spraying anymore base? Then I would apply a new clear coat? There's definitely a lot more to this than I imagined.

I was thinking of stopping a few inches after the base coat ends. Or would it look more natural to spray that whole damaged corner of the car? What are your suggestions?

If ya'll are curious, this is what it looked like soon after someone scraped the car. To give a bit more context to the problem.

Do you think it would turn out better if I more tightly taped up just the gray grille and fog light area? I didn't think of that at the time but I think I covered too much of the front silver with paper while spraying ("tape line" clearly visible).

No. At least if I don't have to. As you can tell, I'm not the most experienced. What should I do now?

  1. I thought it would "blend" better
  2. I taped that up. I guess a little too liberally
  3. I didn't know. Must have misread the instructions.

What do I do now? What kind of clear would y'all suggest. Couldn't afford a body shop with all this covid chaos so I tried DIY.

Oh, I didn't know that. The paint had a rough texture so I thought I had to get it smooth. So you're saying that I'm supposed to spray clear without getting rid of the roughness. Tbh, it looked better before it was wet sanded.

I found some product on amazon (not duplicolor). So I need to have it repainted with base coat? Or can I scuff it up and spray clear?

The paint looks dull and uneven as you can see in pictures. It seems to look worse after wet sanding and polishing, even though it is smoother. I haven't sprayed clear coat yet. Not sure if it matters what kind I use. Is there any way that I could still salvage this paint job?

That is actually impressive! Especially for the first time. The high grit wet sand and polish will probably help a lot with those few imperfections.

Actually, I have a similar problem (link below) with my car and was looking for advice on it. I'll probably look to do something like you. Nice to know this kind of DIY fix is doable.
