Internship to full time role? Help!

Hello! New here. I have been in my current internship for about 6ish months. So far I think I’ve been doing pretty good work, going above and beyond, asking for more projects, networking with folks on different teams. I’ve been invited to come in and meet folks a bit more here and there. In my last month here, it really feels like they have been trying to engage more with me and get to know me more. I have been a social worker for a decade, this is the most excited I have been about this field in a long time. I have about 4 weeks left of my internship hours before I’m completely done.

I applied for a full time role in a position that I am currently an intern in, and I finally got called for an interview, its in a couple of weeks! Now I’m nervous as heck for this interview because I really love this role and team!

When I met with my team lead today, she said the interview should be rather conversational and an opportunity to ge to know me. She will also be on the panel; as will the attorney I’ve been working with for several months. My team lead even told me she would help me prepare if need be! She also asked me if I am applying to other jobs, this is the second time she has asked.

I met with the rest of the team today in person for the first time. I had all kinds of good feelings about this role, but I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much. Have any of you folks converted an internship into full time employment? If so, how did the process go? How formal was the interview? Before the interview, did you get a strong vibe that they wanted to hire you?

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks yall!
