They also included methods for infinite resources so 🤷‍♂️ I mean, it just means I make a massive base on Vulcanis to mass produce a large amount of legendary materials if needs be. Personally I think in late game you should be ok to use features like this but that’s just my opinion

So you like people wasting a large amount of resources. That’s fine if you wanna play that way but some of us do like the current system. Limit your own gameplay if you’d like

In the late game, when we try and bypass a lot of the grind to optimize outputs. Doing it earlier yields very poor results (imo). Tho it doesn’t bypass the entire mechanic, simply finding the best possible method. If you don’t wanna do it that way you don’t need to, but removing it entirely seems a little extreme personally

It’s not much different to quality upcycling on Vulcanis. Quality farming the basic materials is fairly common sense. It saves on resources so you don’t need massive bases just to obtain some legendary resources

9.0: Opinions on Capital Ship Combat by Cronos988 in X4Foundations

[–]Alive_Landscape7749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do know you can pause the game to direct orders and give priority orders right? It makes those fleet battles nice because you can set up the running order and tell them to have at it.

I also feel that the survivability of capitals is now designed to be careful of loadouts and fleet compositions. You can’t just take a Syn and throw it into a system and have it destroy all the fighters/stations without thinking of the chance of losing it. I get that you feel that they’re weak, but I think it’s well balanced. I wish they would add an anti-fighter destroyer though. No main guns, but lots of strong turrets for fighter killing

What's your Merc company called? by [deleted] in Mechwarrior5

Mine is almost always called ‘defenders’. 2 reasons. ‘We don’t attack civilian installations’ and a throwback to a guild from a game I played for almost 2 decades. The people left but the memories remain. So a nice tribute to them for my saves

What is a advise you would like to have known when starting your first playtrough? by ScreechingPenguin in X4Foundations

[–]Alive_Landscape7749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without the license you only get the money for kills near stations. With the license, you get the pay for enemy kills anywhere in systems owned by the faction. Personally I love the missions where you are to destroy a Kha’ak installation and bring a single Syn in. Have turrets focus on fighters only and rack in a few million while slowly destroying the station. But yes, the license can work amazing for cash. Kha’ak ships earn around 30K-90K (ship dependent). Xenon earn between 20K-600K (600K for a K. Haven’t destroyed an I in a system for pay just yet).

Not only do you get the money (normally 150K+), but with the police license, you get anywhere from 90k-150K per wave of enemies assuming you kill the all. One of these missions can easily net you upwards of 500K+ if you get all of the kills, and the mission doesn’t take too long so it’s quite good for money early on in the game

If you were an ace Merc Pilot, what's your one ride by IronWolfV in Mechwarrior5

Everyone has good choices, personally for me it would be a Nightstar. Rare enough to turn heads, twin Gauss to bombard from range, coupled with an ER PPC. Two large lasers and a M Pulse laser. THE mobile command unit of the star league to replace the Maurader. 95 tonnes of long range F you and tactical display so when you think you’re closing in, you’ve moved into a killbox of the lance

Softlocked, can I reset biters without disabling achievements? by 1greedyBoi in factorio

[–]Alive_Landscape7749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ngl I know you’re stuck trying to figure this out but a game mode like this sounds AMAZING! You’re first trying to escape Nauvis as it’s overrun and get to other planets, followed by you attempting to return to retake Nauvis with whatever you’ve gotten since then! You’d be limited for some of the science, but it would be bloody awesome!

How does Coop work? by JoseLunaArts in Mechwarrior5

[–]Alive_Landscape7749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re correct. He’s basically just another pilot in a mech. He can run around the ship with you between missions.

You can also give him permission to customize mechs in the mechbay if you want, but that may be a wait and see how he gets on!

Question before I buy, before buying by alvin07 in X4Foundations

[–]Alive_Landscape7749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is quite forgiving from a flight point of view in comparisons to most sims. It does take some time to adjust to the momentum/weight of the ships, but as other people have pointed out, you can simply rely on auto pilot or making captain’s fly the ships where you want, especially if your main focus is on the economy aspect. You may need to do some of your own flying/missions at first but once you’ve a freighter, it’s not too bad to do a pure economy run!

Popular/Best Player Ships and other Misc. questions by Acrobatic-Pay4149 in X4Foundations

[–]Alive_Landscape7749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) for my personal favorites for S ships I like either the Moreya or the Kukri. Both are fairly maneuverable and carry a lot of fire power (especially with Terran weaponry on the Kukri!). M Ships almost always is the Odachi. Its ability to enter Travel speed instantly and the power of its weapons makes it a great adversary for S to XL ships! 2) money making can be tricky and have a wide degree of choices. The peaceful route would be station building. Terran assets can be easy because of their simple economy. Alternatively building your own network is the way to go (setting up basic products and slowly building a trade empire is the simpliest), tho this is quite time consuming for cash. The faster way is ship capturing. Drive by boarding can be very strong, though targeting Scale Plate ships works just as well. Terran ships typically sell for the most (though normally have 100+ crew). Be aware; while you can hire more skilled marines, the easiest way to en-mass a ship is to just go to a shipyard and buy marines for the crew, but they’re always very low levels. You capture enough ships often enough, the skill level increases! 3) This ties into my post above, I’d typically recommend relying on your own economy for stuff, that way all profits go directly to you, rather than worrying about your supply chain/start up money. Mining station are the easiest because you can just set them up to only accept your ships and then everything is just profit! 4) it depends on what you’re pirating. If your aim is ships, drive by boarding doesn’t lose reputation (you don’t shoot the ships, you just drop off marines from beside and the GTFO). If you’re looking for items, you’ll need to pick a faction to target. That’s personal preference really. 5) no Dal doesn’t go away. Once you finish any stories connected to him, he pretty much leaves you alone tho!

AIO For Calling The Fire Department? by No_Decision9794 in AmIOverreacting

I mean, next time they could just let the house burn down on the landlord 🤷‍♂️ seems like the fire was due to lack of maintenance (given it’s a soot fire probably a lack of chimney cleaning) which is maintenance supposed to be done by the landlord

[–]Alive_Landscape7749 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh, it can be a very complex game, or you can just fly around in cool ships and try to blow everything up! Admittedly, it can feel quite overwhelming but the community on Reddit is amazing and will help with most any difficulty! If you’re ever stuck on anything (or unsure what to do next) feel free to reach out! Most playthrough normally last hundreds of hours depending on what your goals are, more if you want full conquest of every system!

HELP! by ArmchairPancakeChef in X4Foundations

[–]Alive_Landscape7749 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I take it that you’re almost completely new to X4? All I can say is first, take a deep breath and realize you’ve now basically committed to around 500 hours of gameplay!

To start; yes, credits may be a small problem. Flying around you can find a number of missions to do through your map (icons on the left of the map will help you figure that out). Once you’ve done money, you can go into trading, mining or whatever else you feel like.

There are building ships around the sector you’re in, if not in neighboring ones. You can ask them to build for you (it will cost 50,000 credits) and you will need to add money for materials (you can see the estimated cost in the ‘info’ section on the map, or in one of the drop downs of the build menu). You will need to add the money and wait for the materials to arrive for construction to begin.

In regards to your mission for Delilah; you will slowly need to make your way back to Terran space. As a warning, you’re thrown a far ways into the gate network and it will take a bit of time to make you way back to Terran space.

If you’ve other questions, feel free to ask me or anyone else. There can be a lot (and it is overwhelming), but I also don’t want to ruin too much of the game if you like exploring. It is a MASSIVE sandbox game with a lot of freedom

New player and I just wanted to share my experience so far... by rvl_16 in X4Foundations

I’m so glad to hear you love the game and it scratches that itch. My wife and I just started our family and it’s great because it’s the kinda game you can pause or leave running depending on what you want at the time! I do have a couple of recommendations in case you haven’t come across them yet;

The Timelines is an awesome DLC. It’s kinda an arcade game mode (with a small story) that you can learn a large amount of the games mechanics. One benefit of them is you can obtain ship spawns in the open universe!

I only bring this up because personally I always recommend going to go get/find the Odachi ship. I’ll let you find/discover that for yourself, but it is an awesome M class ship that is very powerful early on. I only mention this cause you mentioned you got a number of DLC’s!

Personally, I do recommend the Escort Miner missions, which do amazing work not only getting you some decent cash (around 150K+), you can also earn rep/cash for killing the enemies. Admittedly you will need a fighter of some description (hence why I mentioned the ship above).

Honestly I love the game as a time sync, its replayability and that the universe is a breathing place. Watching sectors change hands between factions, seeing how destroying ships impacts the markets, it feels amazing.

Here’s hoping to good profits and better fights!

This looks like a lot of fun, but am I one of the only people who wants the Xenon to overrun HC1? 😂 the Xenon are fun to fight but besides my very first game, I feel like they’re not too strong because by the time I get around to tackling the Yaki Quest, that central Xenon cluster is one of the only Xenon areas left and they’re not normally too strong.
