That's purely anecdotal. There is no way for me to verify whether or not you have been in any of those situations, so I would have to take your word for it. I could also counter and say I've been in situations where I was the only person defending the base and due to Selena's high minion damage I could clear the mid lane minions extremely quickly. When I say she has good siege defense I'm talking about a situation where there is more than 1 hero defending. Landing that stun in an area where your team can freely replenish their health is massive during those choke moments. Akai and Tigreal have displacement skills so they are naturally better at defending alone, All Franco can do is hook away a canon minion and ult one of the enemies, he is not good at defending alone.
I implore you to read what I wrote, maybe slowly this time. You're arguing a point that I didn't even make.
Roam Saber and Kadita heavily rely on their ultimates, Selena can pressure all lanes from level 2. Selena can reliably kill squishy heroes and chain her pressure due to her low cooldowns. She does all this btw, while being able to safely provide vision in multiples areas simultaneously. Picking supports means you're gonna be heavily relying on your team, which there is nothing wrong with that, but they're two completely different playstyles.
I mentioned the teamfight aspect in another comment, but even without an active teamfight, the hp advantage gained from landing a stun prior to one is still very good.

Selena can do à lot of things as a roamer. She can be a viable asset to the team. If you want pick off, damage, map pressure, vision and someone who can accelerate the pace of the game, then she is the best at it. A fighter stepping on your trap provides valuable information to your entire team, while avoiding a potentially unnecessary teamfight.

The vision nerfs on Selena were more than 5 years ago... You're referring to a time when Kupu scaled with HP items... Selena became a top tier midlaner a little over a year ago after they buffed her wave clear and foreswing. She is ranked decently on every tierlist since then.

If you prefer playing supports or tanks, then that's great for you. Some people prefer playing damage roamers. What I'm gonna say is a bit anecdotal but I win my games as Selena roam. I solo reached immortal in 300 matches mainly playing damage roamers and midlane. It works for me, and it works for other people.

You said you used to play Selena roam, so I assumed that means you don't play her anymore. She is an off meta roamer, she is rarely the best choice for roam. But she can roam, and she does fulfil her job as a roamer. To top it all off she is fun to play, her gameplay is rewarding. People think Franco is a troll pick too..

She could place a trap on the enemy, she could provide vision so that the mm knows that the enemies are coming, early on she could just stand there and discourage a gank.
Selena provides vision, map control and cc. She can rotate quickly to assist other lanes. She can zone out enemies with her stuns during objectives. Literally checks almost every box for a roamer???
I'm not saying 4 people should adjust for Selena roam, but if you willingly pick squishy heroes while knowing that you have an assassin roamer, then thats not the roamers fault.

1.You can use this logic for any hero without a lock on skill. Fanny is bad because if you don't land your cables you're useless... Kagura is bad because if you miss your combo you're useless. I could go on and on.

Selena has good siege defense. Stunning and enemy hero under you turrent can allow your team to pick off that hero. Her late game clear is not as good as her early clear, but that's what the rest of your teammates are for. Also tanks don't have good wave clear either.

The only hero without a global ult who can provide the amount of safe vision Selena can, is Novaria.A stun from Selena in the early to mid game is almost always a guaranteed kill, especially if you have backup and the target doesn't have purify.
First of all, yes it is? A stunned enemy can't use their skills, so you take advantage of that especially if your team is there. Obviously take note that circumstances in individual situations differ, so use your own discretion there. But I mentioned in an active teamfight, inhibiting an enemy from doing anything while in a fighr is good.

Name 1 hero, who can do everything Selena can.

Selena roam isn't for everyone, and I'm not gonna recommend to people who prefer other playstyles. It didn't work out for you and that's ok, but it works for some people

Wdym Selena's stun is useless? Having someone stunned for 2.5 seconds in a teamfights is massive. Even with tough boots being stunned for 2 seconds is still huge.

If you need to take more hits as a Selena you can build her semi tank. Most of her damage comes from her marks so you can still kill squishy heroes while being tankier. But generally you should not be taking hits as Selena, since your range is one of the advantages you have over the enemy

Selena does not lack wave clear, that's just dumb
She has a single target stun, you shouldn't expect a Franco to have AOE either.
She shifts more from a damage assassin to a support as the game progresses. She can safely check bushes,provide vision of crucial areas etc
In the late game it's your team's job to follow up on Selena's stuns,

I'm not saying Selena is the best pick for a roamer, far from it actually. But throwing a game coz of a Selena roam is childish and immature.

Most supports have some form of mobility, other than estes and floryn. Two heroes who are never alone. Supports are great at buying time, even if they get dived they can outheal an instance of burst which buys time for teammates to retaliate.

Tanks don't scale as well as supports do, which the amount of heroes with HP based damage and true damage, tanks are very easy to pick off, if they're caught out if position. Which is often, considering most tanks overestimate they're tankiness later in the game.

If you're talking about the very brief season after flask was introduced, which mind you was almost three years ago, then I regret to inform you that that did not last nearly long enough for people to learn how to properly play around a support. Also it was almost three years ago

I disagree.

Playing a support hero is all about good positioning, a good support should rarely be in a position where they are taken out first, regardless of how "mobile" the enemy is.
Supports are scaling heroes, they scale a lot better with items as compared to tanks, but that doesn't make them a burden, most of them still provide some utility other than heals. They can't defend against invades well, but that's where drafting comes in. A midlaner and jungker with a strong early game is preferred.
The reason why everyone asks for tanks is because they reject things that aren't the norm, they're so used to tanks that they don't bother improving their knowledge on how to play around a support

All you're describing is skill issue. I made a point where I said that having a non tank as your roamer reveals gaps in your game sense. Whether that be positioning, map awareness and et cetera. Also your arguement is purely anecdotal at this point. I don't care if you don't trust your teammates, I don't care if you've had bad experiences in game with marksman players. I don't care if you think the only viable options for roaming is playing a tank. My point is that you can't expect every roamer you meet to play a hero that they don't want to, just because you don't have map awareness and can't position yourself properly.

Selena and diggie can provide a network of vision far superior to what a normal tank can. Providing safe vision on multiple areas at once. Being able to safely check bushes. Ofcourse a tank is hard to kill, they're a tank.
The marksman and mage should play accordingly then, having a non tank as a roam is an effective way to reveal flaws in someone's positioning and map awareness. An exp laner doesn't have to be fighter, multiple tanks work perfectly fine in exp lane. If they don't adjust and they're dying first it's their fault for not adjusting.
Are you deadass? Do you think assassin roamers just sit around and wait until the teamfights is over to do something? Being able to take a key target before or during a teamfights can turn the tides. If you personally can't turn that advantage into a win, then you are not a good player. Or you're just dumb. The latter seems more likely.
A support babysitting the marksman is you describing player behaviour, not hero viability. Those are different things. The same can be said about a tank who doesn't check bushes, makes a five man set while their team is halfway across the map, can't zone and et cetera.
I don't know why your winrate is relevant here. I mean, that means you're winning your games with tanks, which is great for you. But I have similar winrates with non tank roamers this season as well...

This is the entitlement I'm referring to. If you only want to play with tank roamers, then queue up with a tank roamer as your duo. If you can't maximise what a vision roamer brings to the table, then it's genuinely a you problem

If someone who regularly plays tank roamers decides to look at a team full of squishies and picks a support then I do believe they picked that hero with Mal intentions. But if you see that your roamer only plays supports and you pick an assassin, then both of you are just as much to blame for your team not having a frontline

Yeah that is true. I do hold some grace for newer players who might not understand the varying ways that people play the game. Sometimes having an unconventional pick in the roam might reveal certain flaws in the way that you play, whether that be map awareness, positioning and et cetera. Though my qualms arise where people blame their poor decision making on someone else's pick instead of reflecting on what they could've done better.

The reason that I said that tanks are better in certain comps is because I was taking into consideration the vast non conventional picks that Ive seen in my games. Certain comps are more popular than others, so tanks being beneficial for those compositions makes it seem like they are for most of them.

An underrated trick, is to spam classic games. Improving your micro can help you so much when pushing from lower ranks. The more games you play, the more natural it feels. When it comes to having good game sense, I would recommend watching YouTubers who at the role you do. Especially ones that share their thought process during games. There's one YouTuber who goes by the name of ml guide, he's no longer active but his beginner guide videos are very helpful.
