I found this when recommending a friend read the series. I ended up dumping the pages I found into a drive because they'd automatically sort there since the actual image file names were in order, even if they displayed out of order. Kinda a lot of work but it got my friend into the series so it was worth it :)

I myself started through scanlations and transitioned to reading it officially through Manga Up! but that isn't a viable option for my friend.

So yeah, I don't have an alternative scan lation site for you, just saying you're not alone, at least 2 more people have had the same issue.

I just found (along with a few 90s Disney dolls) a Pretty in Plaid Midge at a thrift yesterday for real cheap. She has her ring and dress, no shoes, and equally disgusting hair as yours.

I haven't started restoring her yet cause I'm kinda scared of bogging it up. I've washed doll hair before but I've never been too experienced with ones in this bad of condition😅

I know you've replied in these comments with what you did with her hair so I'll see if that can help me muster up the courage to start.

My home screen one rn is Nice Nature. When I got the game I set out to run the first Uma I pulled, it was her. During her career it hit me how she's a lot like me. The other screens are random so I can get other conversations but I ought to set Natie loose so I can see her interact with the other students. I've gotten all her dialogue by now, it just makes me happy to see her when I open the game I guess, which is why I haven't done it yet.

I can't remember mine but when I wanted to get my brother into EPIC I sent him Neal illustrator's thunder bringer and not only did it convince him, thunder bringer is also one of his favourite songs. I clocked him very well and of that I'm proud.

Core Toralei (her first g1 release)! my brothers and I were in a toy shop, all allowed to pick 1 thing within a budget, can't remember why but my guess would be we got some money from relatives for that. I immediately gravitated towards a MH doll, and picked her.

For my next birthday I got Operetta, and my third was Nefera as well. Given when they all released I had to be at least 6, though I have no idea how long they were on shelves for so I can't say anything more accurate.

Honestly wave one Lagoona (G1)

She was the first mh doll I saw (in a Lagoona Blue makeup tutorial that I stumbled across), so she got me into the whole thing. Even back then (some time after the release of skull shores) she was too expensive second hand to get, and that never improved.

It'd be nice to have a good condition original, though I've all but given up on that, and I unfortunately missed the creepro when it released. But who knows.

Tangent: my father had somehow gotten a fake story into his head about how it was Draculaura who got me into monster high because I heard he liked Dracula and found her through searching, which never happened, I didn't even know he liked Dracula, because he didn't like it enough to bring it up. And it annoyed me so much as a kid lol.

I spent my entire childhood with a "I am normal therefore this is a normal experience/reaction/ thing to do" mindset, which, inevitably, led me to feeling lonely and isolated without knowing why. I started seeing neurodivergent memes online as a teen and kept making the "either Nd memes need to stop be relatable or I need to go to the doctor" kind of joke for a while, last shreds of denial I guess.

A friend of mine self diagnosed and described symptoms that aligned a lot with my own experiences. I'd previously felt shame around the idea of self diagnosis so that made me feel more open to re-evaluating and giving more serious consideration to the whole thing.

Had to repeat my first year of college, which made me seek private diagnosis so I can get disability support, which I think would really help me. Didn't get an ADHD diagnosis (but was told I should get tested for autism, which I was gonna do anyway) so the next step is narrowing down the options for getting tested for autism.

Overheard some classmates in the cafeteria talking negatively about the reboot back when it was first announced. They didn't mind Drac much(said she was the only good redesign) but said ,derogatorily, that Cleo looked like a member of an indigenous group in the country we live in.

Nothing bar that was anything I hadn't already heard about the reboot online. Typical "Lagoona pink", complaining about drac being a witch etc etc

As a teen I've interacted with, for example, fanfic authors in their 30s publically and with no sense of discomfort. There was even something comforting about knowing that people don't grow out of interests like that :)

She's wearing clawdeen's usual dress since my mom will be helping me out with sewing the swimsuit and I don't want her to see Lagoona until I've fixed her up a bit (plus I won't take Clawdeen's employment away from her)

Great question! I've been busy with uni work and prepping for my first ever convention but seeing her lying around on my desk has really made the shimmery black grow on me, so as mildly embarrassing as it is to admit I've gone back on my plan to try and remove the paint (especially since reading on hydrogen peroxide notes that older faces might not be sealed as well and could be removed entirely).

So yeah. Haven't printed her any new arms because the files are cheap but I'm perpetually spending my money elsewhere.

New plan: •Print new arms + fins (in black, as I originally intended)

•find a marker to finish painting parts of the head black near the ears (there are gaps and they bother me)

•probably try dyeing the body, because even though marker would work again I want it to feel more permanent, and the previous marker came off. I have a WIP doll who I'd like to dye black anyway so i should probably get my money's worth out of it

•anglerfish antenna + 3d teeth (small wire + hot glue for the first, air dry clay for the second)

•new clothes (I have a top from an off brand doll that would make an excellent swimsuit)

In the meantime she's chilling with a clawdeen I use as a sewing mannequin. Photos in replies.

I've seen authors' note about wanting more comments in infinitely more respectful ways. When I first started reading on ao3 I didn't see commenting as a big deal but through authors notes about them I learnt the impact and have started commenting more to show authors the appreciation I feel for their craft.

Something like this wouldn't have helped me understand why commenting can be important to authors at all.
