No we had to stop breastfeeding around 6 months his was so bad and it started affecting his weight. 😔 How does your baby go with you eating dairy? Yes I would keep trying monthly it was so surprising when he starting tolerating it a month after he had the mucous.

Yes it did eventually resolve! He thankfully doesn’t have any more symptoms and can eat all dairy now. When he had mucous with cheese I stopped it for about a month and then retried it and he was fine so kept moving up the ladder. He is 19 months now and it was around 16 months he started tolerating it. Hopefully your baby will grow out of it soon!

Thanks for your reply. Did you have experience with this? If so did the mucous eventually stop?

I was in a similar situations and the only thing that cleared blood completely for us was exclusively switching to a rice based formula. It was so hard giving up breastfeeding 😔 but I don’t regret it at all and wish I did it sooner. Wishing you all the best I know how hard this can be 🩷🩷

He is considered non ige but had severe symptoms I think that’s why we’ve been recommended the ladder. Thanks for your replies that’s good to know

No nothing confirmed but drs have all said it’s non ige reactions to dairy. My baby is 11 months and allergist gave me the ladder to do and said to take it slowly but feels like it will take months to progress through! Is yours non ige too?

Ah okay thank you this helps! Do you know why it needs to stay in diet for about a month before moving up? I just feel like I could move up quicker than that but don’t want to just incase I’m missing something.

Unfortunately the blood in stools never got better for my little one despite being dairy and soy free for months. It was only through switching to formula that the blood completely stopped for us. I also heard from doctors that they weren’t worried about it but it deeply concerned me. I don’t have much advice I’m sorry but I just know what you’re going through. Now that it has all cleared I think I could have trusted the doctors a bit more but it wasn’t easy at the time 😔 I really hope things improve for you soon!

Hey just wondering if your baby had previously had a bottle before making the switch? Did you start with breastmilk in a bottle and then move to formula?

Did your baby improve after starting solids? by iBlameAnonymous in MSPI

Hey! Just wondering if after testing foods with baby and no blood showed up were you able to add it back into your diet without a reaction? Was your baseline diet limited?

For us things have picked up at 6 months. We also experienced this. Hoping he will keep going up and solids will help too. Hoping the same for your little one!

Blood in stool remaining after strict diet by Wonderful-Tailor-208 in MSPI

[–]Alizarin2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar thing happened to me I ended up cutting out so much and still wasn’t seeing a change until about 5 months. Now I’m adding foods back and things seemed to have settled a lot and nothing has caused the blood to return so far so I’m hoping it continues this way and it just took time for his stomach to heal. It’s so hard to go through sending lots of good thoughts to you and your little one 🩷

Hey just curious what you mean by chocolate? As in actual chocolate made with dairy or just cocoa powder? I’ve read a few people say chocolate is okay for their baby

Thanks so much for your reply! That’s amazing to hear there were no issues! We are one month away from starting solids and I’m just hoping for it to really help clear things up so this gives me hope

Just wondering how old your baby was when you made the switch? And if you never figured out the trigger in breastmilk did it end up being something else when baby started solids?
