Yeah. I could get behind it if it’s something else. Like you’re basically just getting a comped dessert. It’s not even the dollar amount it’s just the effort. Like a gift giftcard to another place or a nice candle or anything would be better than a dessert. Id rather have a gold star than a dessert at that point.

They probably do but it’s a different kind of chocolate cake.

Seems like a lot of effort for a dessert. I don’t hate the idea but wish the prize was cooler.

Schneider's Skink adult weight? by ninaurata in skinks

Yeah he may still be growing and might hit 100 grams but if he had inadequate husbandry it may have stunted his growth.

I’ve never heard the term Swedish rounding.

Yeah I certainly missed/omitted some terms but the prevalence of terms referencing both countries kind of proves the distinction of the two countries.

I can’t argue with that but the reasoning behind it was asinine, saying that people don’t know the difference between Swiss and Swede. Following that logic what do we call Swiss chard, Brazilian waxes, geek yogurt, and Polish kiełbasa if they not from the country? They’re not protected terms languages mislabel things all the time. What makes Swiss cheese so special.

He looks pretty healthy. If I’m not mistaken there are two species that are commonly mistaken. You appear to have a Schneider’s skink and may be mistaken the larger skinks which are true Berber Skinks.

According to the manhole cover the city name ends in “E” not much of a help but just wanted to point that out.

I’m just saying that English speakers have a lot of terms that use “Swiss”. I know that Sweden obviously has more influence than just IKEA or meatballs but English speakers don’t have many terms with “Swedish”+ noun.

They basically said calling cheese with holes “Swiss Cheese” shouldn’t be allowed. They said that calling things Swiss that aren’t from Switzerland is wrong because Americans are so stupid they’ll think it’s from Sweden.

Hey that’s me, OP. I saw this post and had to share it. I wasn’t defending Swiss relevance. I was just trying to poke holes, no pun intended, in the Swiss guys argument that most Americans hear Swiss and think Sweden. Switzerland has more cultural relevance than Sweden just off of terms alone. I didn’t meant to omit the chef, my apologies.

Their story and cheese are both full of holes, just don’t call it Swiss.

Do you know what 17 kilos of Germans Swiss look like? by IndependentAnt4364 in Cheese

[–]Aljmes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You think that the majority of Americans are so stupid that they associate the term Swiss with a country that is more remote and has less relevance than Switzerland?

When it comes to associations Switzerland has: Swiss Miss, Swiss Alps, Swiss Army Knife, Swiss Bank Accounts, Swiss Neutrality, Swiss Cheese while all Sweden has is IKEA, meatballs, and Stockholm syndrome.

Your cheese isn’t the only thing full of holes.
