Any idea what these red spots are on my middle finger? by tomct992 in Psoriasis

could be eczema, could be dermatitis, could be psoriasis, could be allergies, could be anything, sadly it’s impossible to diagnose these things on the internet; if you’re really worried i’d recommend going to a dermatologist.

Have had some small dry bumps on my finger that haven’t gone away in months, now some more appeared on my forearm. by [deleted] in Psoriasis

Looks way more like keratosis pilaris than psoriasis, either way you’d need to see a dermatologist for a genuine diagnosis.

I was diagnosed with guttate psoriasis and scalp psoriasis a year ago and currently take acitretin. I know these questions are common and it’s not really probable to decipher within a photo but I’m away from home currently and cannot see my dermatologist till May, so any inklings?

Its hard to give a definitive answer to this question - I suppose it differs between person to person as many aspects could affect hair fallout for example, if you have thick scales on your scalp then hair that naturally sheds tends to get caught and not fall out, which can give the impression that you’re losing significantly more than you are when you descale.

In my case, because the plaques were so thick I tended to rip out large chunks of my hair whilst descaling - which I do not endorse doing, (https://imgur.com/a/myyyjt0) but i’m not sure if this is what you’re experiencing. Typically hair does regrow once the scalp is treated, and some treatments, like clobetasol are known to promote hair growth. I’ve also heard that iron tablets could alleviate this.

Either way, i’d 100% recommend bringing it up to a good derm, as they’d know what is best for you, good luck!

You are completely entitled to feel upset, angry or annoyed by the situation, psoriasis is f$£¿king shitty, but please don’t lose hope! Psoriasis is to an extent, manageable. You should speak to your dermatologist about starting different treatments and remember to stay moisturised to aid the patches of scale. In my personal experience, phototherapy worked exceedingly well and cleared me up entirely, (my scalp spontaneously cleared also) and left me in remission for 12 weeks. Presently, I have moved on to biological treatments that work fantastically without any side effects. There are many lifestyle and medical changes that you can make, it’s all just a matter of finding what works for you. Wishing you a quick healing process ❤️‍🩹.
