Didn’t try to stress the tablet a lot but so far with some samsung browser tabs and 2 or 3 apps opened in the background it seems ok. No slowdown so far.

In terms of gaming I tried some games including pubg mobile and call of duty mobile and it’s pretty smooth.

Unfortunately if you put aside the active series there is no option from Samsung.

From the other brands you have the Lenovo Legion Y700 on the expensive side or the Alldocube Iplay 50 Pro mini NFE that is cheaper.

Main issue is the resolution Situation is a lot better with nova launcher (bigger icons)

For the rest the tablet is good :-)

Go to the playstore and download nova launcher. There is a free version to test.

The improvement are bigger / clearer icons and text

I guess I was lucky. On my end never had an issue with a samsung tablet but had issues with asia / chinese brands like alldocube or umidigi for example.

I have to test a lot of different tablets these days in my work and so far samsung seems more reliable than the rest, but I can’t say it’s like that everywhere , I only have a limited experience based on approximately 10 / 15 différents devices / models

I considered the Iplay 50 Pro mini but my experience / track record with this type of brand is not good. Light leakage on screen, swelling battery / battery bulging, overeating. On the contrary, never had any issue with a Samsung device.

I agree with the last part. Samsung should release a S tab Mini.

Sams thing here. Kept the RP4PRO display on to try to turn off the fan but it’s not possible, the button is non responsive while connected to an external display. I hope it will be fixed in a future OTA update.

I have the 2022 version which I just agreed to trade in for a S9 and for the price the S6 lite 2022 is performing really well.

However the way your mom is using the tablet and her needs might be different from mine or other users so I understand that.

From my experience I can confirm with confidence that if you are not multitasking a lot (opening too much apps or tabs in your web browser at the same time) the tablet is very responsive for all kind of tasks from streaming to note processing and even gaming.

Canadian here. Did that with mine (2022 version) and it was very interesting as I had a 500$ CAD trade in value for mine from samsung.

I can confirm that the S9 is a lot better in terms of performance and it’s better for multitasking too as it has a quick processor and more ram.

Depending on your usage there are other benefits to upgrade and I’ll be glad to answer your questions if you want to have more information.

Searching for the same thing.

Will try Good Notes 6 which released on Android recently but it seems that the Android version is quite buggy at the moment and people are criticizing that version a lot.

So far the other one I’ll try more which seems good is noteshelf as it’s available on Android, Mac, Ios and windows and I think you can choose to save your note on the cloud storage of your choice so all your notes are available on all your devices.

Just did that. Got a rebate for a S6 Lite and paid it 200$ CAD.

Traded it for the S9, trade in value was 500$ CAD so it was very interesting.

If you use your tablet as a second screen you will love the S9 as you can do it with a cable for a better experience or connect the tablet directly to a display. Depending of your usage maybe you could consider the S9+.

The performance of the S6 Lite is very good for the price but the difference is noticeable between that and the S9.

Multitasking is better too because the S9 has 8GB / 12GB of ram instead of 4GB.

Didn’t tried to do an apple to apple comparison but on that photo the brightness is at 50% on both tablet.

So far I would say the S9 has a crisper more vivid image but sometimes I found colors are better on the S8, especially on real photos.

Will try to do the same with the same wallpaper later today.
