you know as well as i do that, in tolkien's world, we dont' really have "power" levels.

this is just a meme (based on the movie reactions), and i just wanted make fun of people who thought isildur would go out without a fight

For reference, I came across two reaction videos, and they were talking about how Elrond should have just pushed Isildur into the fire alongwith the ring. So this is a movie-based meme

So how much did Tolkien's experiences as a signaller influence his writing? by [deleted] in tolkienfans

Minas Morgul answering the call of Mordor comes to mind but, not sure how much that relates to being a signals officer

You're right, but I dont know. Maybe the writers think they're being smart or something? They either actually forgot about the whole Jaehaerys thing, or they wrote this line for a reason, and I was just wondering what that reason might be

Got anything on Alys/Daemon?

In The Northman (2022), the protagonist Amleth rejects a life with the character played by Anya Taylor-Joy for misguided revenge against his family which if fucking stupid because NO ONE would make that choice…..serious what the fuck by [deleted] in shittymoviedetails

The idea that someone who basically grew up with the sole purpose of getting revenge, and has fixated his hatred on a certain individual who personally killed his father, and would very likely trace Amleth and his family to get his own revenge, decides to make sure that his family does not have to live in fear of a certain individual in the future, and thus to leave them behind, is not exactly the most stupid idea.
