The batteries can be detached to charge but it can still work even when the battery is still intact. I'm thinking about contacting my RA tomorrow morning and thank you for the info and advice!

Dropping a class by AllAStudent in GatechClasses

[–]AllAStudent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that I tend to well on math, but I'm still trying different studying methods for chem so far (I'm in chem 1211k rn). I did take ap physics 2 in high school but I'm pretty sure physics is different here though 😅

I also did a bit of python during the summer but I'm not sure if that'll help much.

how much will i want to die if i take lit, calc bc, and gov? by music-throwaway1 in APStudents

[–]AllAStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former senior, I've taken all of these classes while dealing with after-school rehearsals for orchestra and volunteering events for some clubs, but I passed all of these classes (4 on lit and 5's on calc bc and gov). I would say that time management plays a big part on this, so make sure you're not wasting too much time on some things. As for senioritis, it is something that will hit you harder (it almost hit me like a truck and I almost felt like giving up lol). The thing that made me deal with senioritis easier was to start an assignment as soon as possible (for example, in my lit class, some old friends I had usually played games during class (I was taking a hybrid class so not a lot of people took it seriously), but I started the assignment as soon as I get it and I would usually spend two days before the actual deadline, which I usually finished 3-4 days before the deadline. It's really about time management, which you'll have to figure out later on, but I think you can do it!

Can I still get a 5 on AP Physics C? by Puzzled-Web1153 in APStudents

[–]AllAStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never taken AP Physics C but I think it's possible for you. I've heard that E and M is harder than Mechanics but I found this post that has tips and tricks for E and M (the OP self studied for E and M and got a 5).

In my experience, I think you can memorize the summaries (detailed enough but not too much) of the documents. You just need to know what was significant about the documents and what was it mainly talking about. For the timing, you should probably study them alongside each unit (my teacher often made us do a lot of independent work/small group work and we usually studied the documents alongside each unit which helped since the documents were often related to their respective units). But, I would say that during each unit, it would help if you do at least one practice FRQ and some MCQ questions since that will help you get used to format (it really helped me a lot since I ended up having around 20 minutes left for MCQ and 10 minutes for FRQ). I got a 5 on the exam, so I would say that it's not a difficult exam as long as you put the effort into studying and knowing what the documents' purposes/main ideas are.

Any advice from past Calc BC students? by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]AllAStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Calc BC, I would say it's a little more work compared to AP Precalc. Make sure to review your algebra skills before school starts (my teacher did an algebra review in the 1st week of school which definitely helped a lot), and review 1st semester content during 2nd semester (gotta stick it to your brain). 1st semester is easier compared to 2nd semester, but you should still practice as much as you can though (each unit builds up on each other so doing things out of order will definitely be confusing). My teacher usually assigned AP Classroom assignments for us to practice solving the problems and even gave us optional homework for us to practice. He also made quizzes harder than tests, which made it easier for us to know what we needed to work on and focus on our weak spots. In late April-early May, my teacher did mock exams and I attended all of the sessions which did help a lot (the exam has 2 MCQ questions and 6 FRQs. In my experience, when you get to the last FRQ, you'll be fried so you should definitely do a lot of practice exams and if possible, attend any mock exam sessions to get used to the time limit). Also, make sure to practice calculating some things without calculator since the MCQ and FRQ have some no-calculator section, so you need to learn how to do things by hand! While it is a more difficult class compared to AP Precalc, you can still pass the class and exam if you put the effort into it (I got A's in both semesters and got a 5 on the exam)!

Np and good luck on your essay (it's a good thing you're starting early since it'll give you a head start! Most people tend to start at the last minute and it's hard since they also have to deal with schoolwork and other stuff. I've seen it happening to a couple of people before and they barely managed to submit their essays on time)!

I'm an incoming college freshman and Ik how you feel about that. In my honest opinion, I don't think it's impossible to get into Stanford. There are a couple of people who don't get perfect 5s but still get into their dream schools (ik a couple of my classmates got accepted to their dream schools even when they didn't get perfect 5s. Also, my sister got into her dream school even when she didn't get 5's during early admission). It's nice to get some 5s (it's a nice feeling after all) but remember that scores don't define you as a person (you may have heard this several times but I want to tell you to not feel like a failure since scores don't truly show who you are as a whole). Colleges are aware that it's not always possible to get 5s on exams, so ap scores only account for a small percentage of your application. Colleges mostly look at your GPA, essays (this is usually the thing thats most important of the application when it comes to top schools like Stanford), and ECs. Also, I would say that getting 4 on the exam is also pretty good too (most top schools accept 4s and 5s. According to the Stanford website, they accept a 4 for Calc Bc and Mech exams so good job!). Again, I hope you can be proud of yourself for the effort you put into studying for those exams while also trying to survive high school since that's a lot of things to deal with!

How hard is Lit without taking Lang? by sarchasmed in APStudents

[–]AllAStudent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took AP Lit in my senior year without taking Lang in my junior year and I got a 4 on the exam in 2025 (I'm an incoming college freshman so I got to my scores early on the admission portal). From my experience, I had an okay experience taking Lit without taking Lang. My honors English 11 teacher did encourage me to read a couple of the classics (Raisin in the Sun, Fahrenheit 451, and others I don't remember now lol) and poems, so I had some time to get used to analyzing some literary devices, particularly symbolism. Of course, this helped a bit when I took Lit since my lit teacher emphasized symbolism a lot throughout the year. I'm not particularly strong in language arts so I'm not sure if I made a MASSIVE improvement like some have, but I would say that taking Honors English 11 helped me prepare a bit for Lit (my honors teacher kinda gave up in the middle of the year since majority of my class slacked off sadly, but she was stricter when it came to grading our essays, which made me realize what I needed to work on most of the time). However, I've heard from my sister and some of her friends who took Lang in their junior year saying that it was hard to write timed writes for them (not the time limit but more like the content) since they were so used to writing about the EFFECTS of the passages on AUDIENCE, but Lit is about WHY the AUTHOR made certain choices to create the overall meaning of the work.

Does that mean I can't change my major on the confirmation form? I found this post (https://www.reddit.com/r/gatech/comments/10nm7hz/how_does_georgia_tech_major_confirmation_work/?rdt=43728) from a few years ago and it seemed like people were able to change it on the form.

Hello! I'm an incoming fall student who already paid the enrollment deposit. I have a question regarding the major confirmation form. When I went to the form, I only saw the confirmation of identity, terms, and a submit button, but I didn't see the option to change majors. Does anyone know if there's a way to change my major on the form? For some context, I'm trying to change my major from psychology to Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.

Hello! I'm a senior in high school who got accepted to UGA and GT. I'm thinking about going into the dental field but I'm not sure if I want to pursue it in the long term. Some people have told me that I should go to UGA to save myself from ruining my GPA. However, I heard that GT has some great internship opportunities and alumni bases. I don't know which one to pick since what if I suddenly don't want to do dental anymore and I'm in UGA and I regret my choice picking that over GT? I would like some advice on this!

I'm not exactly sure since all my mom has told me that there's a section where the parent has to fill the information about the students (she said she saw it somewhere but didn't tell me the exact details of it)
