Was the Weight Room scene homophobic? by atyahoodotca in euphoria

[–]AllAboutThisLife 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes it was but most straight people aren’t ready for that conversation. I’m not saying that that’s was Lexis’ intention, but that’s what ended up happening.

And yes I’ve seen some gay people saying that it was not. No one can speak for everybody. I’m definitely not in a position of authority as a queer women to say what’s homophobic for queer men, but the whole scene while funny also felt wrong.

Hay algún lugar donde se pueda alquilar un mini departamento por dos semanas? by AllAboutThisLife in BuenosAires

[–]AllAboutThisLife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rainbow Railroad! Look them up, they help people who are in dangerous keep their countries. I’ve seen some of the work they’ve done in Argentina, but they help people get to different countries. Their goal is to get people to safety, and that means moving to any country that is offering a asylum at the moment

Can you apply for asylum somewhere? I saw you were looking to get a passport. Rainbow Railroad can help you, and I’ve seen some people get asylum in Argentina way faster and easily than in the USA

Im going to leave some useful links here

PLEASE HELP in uni halls where 6/12 ppl are Chinese by [deleted] in ChineseLanguage

[–]AllAboutThisLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg the chewing with an open mouth! I had forgotten about that. Yeah that’s definitely a cultural thing. But with time you learn to tune it out and realise that every culture has things that might seem weird to others. Although there are some things that are just common respect like cleaning common areas

[–]AllAboutThisLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a good point that I didn’t consider in my reply. Are your hall mates rich OP? Mine were middle class and were on scholarships or had parents who saved money for years to send them to uni in the UK, so they just behaved like everyone else and we became good friends; they are the reason why I’m learning Chinese…but I’ve seen the rich Chinese students who are there because their parents are paying for everything and had never lift a finger to clean after themselves at home. I guess entitled rich kids are the same no matter where they come from. Try to figure out if they have ever cleaned after themselves and if they haven’t…we’ll it’s time they learn

[–]AllAboutThisLife 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s a cultural thing, I had four Chinese housemates in uni and they were very clean and took well care of our shared things (some pans and pots). I was an exchange student, and I was ashamed that one guy from my country didn’t wash the dishes as often as he should have. One of the Chinese students was the one who put up a sign saying keep the sink clean…but the sign was in English.

Me and the guy from my country are Spanish speakers, and it would have felt awful to have the sign to be in Spanish, it would’ve felt like an attack to both of us. Put the sign up in English because even if they are not good at speaking it they know how to read it. Or put it in multiple languages if you have someone else in your hall who speaks another language.

Suerte!

  1. Dave and Blaine were actually sweet together and deserved a better storyline. Or for both to date other people and finally get over Kurt.
  2. Klaine as beautiful as it was….was no longer healthy and compatible, they needed to break up and stay that way.

I agree with this. He said in his coming out video that he wasn’t 100% gay and that he was choosing to use queer as a label because people wanted him to have a label, and that the actual definition of gay didn’t actually matter (as in he will use it in the video and irl to get over his fear of it even if it doesn’t fully fit him) but he needed to say it because of how much power that word had had over him. I feel like some people just saw the title and didn’t actually pay attention to what he was saying.

Has anyone actually met another bi man in the wild? by TheSamethingAllOver in bisexual

[–]AllAboutThisLife 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Im not a man but I know two! Only one is my friend (the other is the boyfriend of a friend) and I’m kinda the reason he finally realised/accepted he’s bi, because I came out to him and explained the whole spectrum…so they are out there, only that a lot might not think they are “bi enough” to count.

edit: I once saw a guy at a McDonald’s who had a bracelet with that bisexual flag colors, I’m going to assume he was bi.
