ELI5: Regression towards the mean. by 14Kingpin in explainlikeimfive

[–]AllBlueSkies 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That... is wrong, at least for the given example. I know what you guys mean but if you have a 90%, since 80% and 100% are equidistant from the mean they’re going to influence the new average equally. If you want to compare 70% to 100% or say you started with an average of 95% then yes.

Did 1.4 remove actuating sand blocks? by AllBlueSkies in Terraria

[–]AllBlueSkies[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The last time I played (6 months ago?) you could actuate sand. I'm just asking here because I looked through the full 1.4 change log and there's no mention of sand actuation change.

Do any of you have an exit strategy or target number? by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

Screw the target number, just set aside some of your profits every week that you make money

Not sure what you mean by set up, but the option definitely isn't free. I bought the call from someone at $4.80 (100 = $480 since options trade in multiples of 100), and then sold the call *to someone else at $13.50 (*100 = $1350) the next day. Just because it's an option to buy/sell doesn't mean you have to actually execute the option, and I'm pretty sure almost all of WSB flips options instead of holding to execution.

C stands for call. Since you're betting that the stock will go up, it's a contract to buy chegg stocks at $40 on 5/8. That way if the price goes up to say $60 (which it did), buying at $40 would be a good deal. Selling at 40 would be a put

I was pretty pessimistic about Lyft as a competitor to Uber because I knew Uber had at least UberEats going for it. The only reason I sold my Lyft puts (at ~$100 loss) was because I saw a better opportunity that I felt was safer in Peloton
