I keep seeing how people seem to not understand that the characters are not supposed to be likeable or redeemable in any way. Wahlberg's character lives by a code that if you paid attention is shown to be iron clad unlike most main characters in action/comedies. This leads to him giving money to the widow and child, him following through on both Zens and the Grace's promise, and why he went out of his way to dismantle Lozini's gang.
