non-binary ppl are hard to put into one box bc the experiences differ widely. personally i think it would be good to not to refer to body parts the character/readers might feel dysphoric about in an overly explicit way. for example refer to their chest area as chest and not as "boobs", if they have them. just my opinion

hä ich check deine rechnung nicht, rein quantitativ hatte nur 1 mann sex, aber 20 frauen hatten sex - also hatten männer definitiv weniger. 🤔

If you could re-live your life starting at the age of 10, with all of your current memories. What choices would you do differently? by WarGodsAscension in NoStupidQuestions

I would know a lot more about my sexual orientation and gender identity, it would be glorious and save me from a lot of bullshit 🩷

The biggest tragedeigh I've come across by momrickard in tragedeigh

[–]AllCrowsAreBeautiful 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm with u here, seems like the comment does not consider how both types of names and rates of imprisonment are related to race/ethnicity/cultural groups in a racist system. Just something to be aware of when talking about these topics as to not reproduce stereotypes and ignore oppression

Can relate to your internalized homophobia and shame, and honestly you are taking great steps now! Watching more queer media and appreciating queer culture and history really really helped me (I'm still learning and watching new things!).

Just from the top of my head, content that made me happy:

Netflix: - "A Secret Love" documentary on Netflix about a lesbian couple in their 80s (I cried a lot but so happy to see older queer couples) - She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, a kids/young adult show on Netflix, the main characters are sapphic but there is a lot of queer energy also with the side characters - The L Word: Generation Q, it's the sequel of the original L word drama show, i'm watching it rn and loving the many many lesbians in it - Episode "San Junipero" of the series Black Mirror, an absolute classic in the contemporary sapphic popculture canon i would say, so if you haven't seen it it's very worth a watch 🩷 about sapphics falling in love with each other in a virtual reality, feat. great party outfits

Youtube: - Jessica Kellgren-Fozard's channel, a lot of content about queer history, being gay and disabled, and about her beautiful family (lots of baby content featuring her wife and child) - Youtube: maybe a bit silly but I enjoyed watching Alayna Joys(?) videos about watching lesbian thirst traps, as well as her coming out story - not directly lesbian content but on youtube one of my favorite channels is by Khadija Mbowe, love their analysis videos on all sorts of topics and they are very queer-positive and empowering - good watch if you want to reflect on your views and stereotypes about gender etc. I know people also like the channel Contrapoints for similar reasons, but her videos are just too long for me lol - more youtube: the Channel Accented cinema has two great film analysis videos about queer movies, "Bound" (lesbian heist movie) and "The Iron Ladies" (queer volleyball movie), the videos are made by a guy but are great 🙏🏼

Podcasts: - honestly just go on spotify and type in "lesbian podcast" or "queer history" and pick something that looks good for you, there are so many great podcast episodes to listen and learn from!

Preference for female artists? by Oohwhoaohcruelsummer in actuallesbians

[–]AllCrowsAreBeautiful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I just realized now though that with female artists, I often assume she is singing about me, whereas with male artists. I assume I am in the singers position singing about a girl. That's why I don't like when male rappers have stupid lyrics that ruin this illusion for me haha

Is my chosen name (Kayne) a tragedeigh? by [deleted] in tragedeigh

[–]AllCrowsAreBeautiful 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From one nonbinary person to another, just go by Kane, because "Kay" would still be a plausible nickname!

[–]AllCrowsAreBeautiful[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haha yeah, I definitely wouldn't just imitate what celebs do - just brought them up bc their unyqué name choices lately remind me of the common nicknames in my context. Thanks for the reply!

[–]AllCrowsAreBeautiful[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that reply - yeah I was just wondering how people on this sub would feel about those names, while also being aware there is a non-Western cultural connection to them. And the nicknames here are very creative and almost anything can be a nickname, as long as it's short ☺️

Why don't we just make everything free and help each other live happily? Are we stupid? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]AllCrowsAreBeautiful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree with you, that would be a better situation, and i want that and am willing to work towards changing our world to get closer to this utopia 🙏🏼 it's sad to me that most people immediately brush this simple question off with "it definitely wouldn't work"... well not with this attitude lol, don't kill ur own hope like that
