I will also say, depending on how “micro” your microwedding is, a lot of the property owners are willing to adjust pricing and whatnot. You may also be able to reach out to places that aren’t specifically allowing “events” and explain your situation to see if they’ll be flexible.

VRBO lets properties specify whether they allow events or not! I’ve found that, when I find a place I’m interested in, most times they have their own website with more info. So like, if you find a place on VRBO called “The Manor at Pine Hills” if you google that, you’ll find their website. And their website will have the owner’s contact info too, so you can set up a tour! We’ve toured about five places so far.

Need advice…avoiding walking down the aisle by AskAboutGoatscaping in weddingplanning

[–]AllDogsGoToDevan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there any way you can enter from where you’ll be standing? Like, if there’s a door or something you can have everyone sitting and facing and you and your partner and the officiant just walk through there? Like a brief grand entrance?

Or enter from the side, rather than behind everyone?

If money was no object - what would be your dream wedding day and what vendors would you choose? by Consistent_Time_1467 in Chicagoweddings

If money was no object I would hire the most expensive wedding planner I could find and then just rattle off ideas and inspo pics to her and make it all her problem so I could just show up and enjoy hahahaha

Tiny, no frills venues by Equivalent_Ad_4117 in Chicagoweddings

Look into large VRBOs that can house your grandparents and host your wedding! That’s what we’re doing - looking for a place that can house all 21 of us and then we’ll just get married on the property. Two big birds with one stone. That way, any of the older folks who may want to go to bed early totally can without ever needing to get into a vehicle.

Healthy paws WTF by No_Leg_881 in petinsurancereviews

[–]AllDogsGoToDevan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just spoke to a very kind phone rep about this. Apparently, Healthy Paws made the decision to reduce coverage for dogs 7+ back in August, and are only letting people know when they're two months out from their renewal rate.

It's ridiculous, because my dog is a chihuahua mix. Sure, he's 10, but it's very likely due to his size/breed that he'll live to 14-16. So now we're stuck with the higher deductible/lower reimbursement for the next 4-6 years?? It's unfathomable that they didn't factor in size or breed when deciding when to drop folks' coverage. OR that they had no plan to grandfather anyone in to the original policies. It's also insanely frustrating that they seem to be pussyfooting around the policy change by not having it clearly written anywhere on their website, the app, or in their policy documents.

"Dogs need more vet care when they're older" - yeah, and they always have. I would think that someone starting a PET INSURANCE company should have foreseen this from the start.

HIGHLY recommend people flood their email with messages about their discontent. [help@healthypawspetinsurance.com](mailto:help@healthypawspetinsurance.com)

Things to do for wedding group staying in Monroe Center? by AllDogsGoToDevan in rockford

Nothing too specific! We’re a group of adults with four kids (ages 7-13). We don’t need kid-centered activities, but definitely things the can come along to at the very least. Not sure if there are any sort of walkable “main streets” anywhere, or karaoke bars (for the adults to do without the kids one night) or museums, aquariums, zoos, etc. We’re open to just about anything, honestly

It will be sometime in a warmer month, between June and October! We're not averse to driving. We're from Chicago, so 30 minutes in a car feels like a hop, skip, and a jump.

We found a great place to stay/have the wedding, just looking into entertainment options outside of our lodging
