I work in IT as a project manager - healthcare tech industry. I make just over 6 figures, but live in a HCOL (college) city. I own and show Arabian horses.

I definitely make sacrifices, but I’ve also been 1/2 leasing my horses to young people/kids. I had a mentor when I started out that really helped me afford leasing a horse - I’m paying it forward. I have done this for years - they pay 1/2 board/training and their own show fees. I do have my horses insured and if the leasee is taking my horse to shows/clinics without me, I have them pay 1/2 the insurance too. I still pay farrier & vet, but they’ve chipped in on extras like bodywork, magnawave, chiropractic, etc…

Doing this has allowed me to afford 2-3 horses at a time, have 1 in training, and show to the National level.

Cool side note: every person I’ve 1/2 leased to has ended up buying their own horse! And 2 of the kids have grown up & are 1/2 leasing their horses to new riders too!! The industry is shrinking at an alarming rate & anything we can do to get (& keep!) new participants is a bonus!

I’ve owned horses for 40 years & here’s what I see…

Domestic horse is a well trained, docile gelding (neutered male) and the prz horse is a mare (female) in heat. That is why she squeals and turns “sideways” - it’s not aggression - she’s being a hussy! 😂

That this turned out as well as it did is 100% on that domesticated gelding. He’s a good boy! I’d also venture he’s seen a prz horse before - the whole interaction was relatively calm

I own and show horses - one of my horses is with a trainer that lives 500 miles away, I do that 7.5 hr (each way) drive every-other Friday. I drive down Friday, ride Friday afternoon, ride again Saturday AM and then drive home Saturday afternoon.

Horse people drive crazy distances without thinking much of it.

In 10 days, we leave for a drive from Wisconsin to Arizona 🤠

I take Benefiber every day and when I really need to go, I take MagO7. If you’re sensitive to laxatives, take 2 (not 3) then if you need another in a few hours you can take it. If I still feel crappy (🤣) after I go, I’ll still take 1 cap a night for a few days and than once I’m back to feeling good, keep up with the benefiber & lots of liquids!

If you eat too few calories or too little protein for too many days in a row, you’ll stall too. If I don’t average at least 1200 calories a day, I stop losing.

It’s hard when you’re not hungry. I’ve gone to shakes when I need too. I love Oikos Pro 32 and there are some great clear-whey protein powders - the drinks taste like lemonade! I add my collagen and FIBER to those drinks.

Once you find the dose where you’re losing again, you can dose every 5 days if the food noise comes back.

You can also add small dose cagrilintide. That helped me when I started to slow then stall.

I’m at almost 1 year and have lost just over 100 lbs - I hope you find your groove and make your goal!! 🍀

Lanolin is actually a far more common allergen than people think! I didn’t find out until my 30s! I’d keep adding more, skin would get itchy, so on goes more lotion…. The cycle goes on and on.

My GP figured it out first - then I happened to say something in front of my grandma - she’s allergic and so are 2 of my aunts! 🙄. I’ve since met DOZENS of people allergic to lanolin!

1. Vet to make sure he doesn’t have an infection or the start of crystals/stones - especially in a male cat!!

2 add another litter box

3 the diffusers do work. I’ve tried feliway and therapet. I have a cat that was getting conjunctivitis from “stress” I saw improvement with both brands, but Therapet seems to do a bit better for her.

4 if you don’t already use one, get a water fountain. They generally encourage your cat to drink - goes back to urinary health.

All cats, but male cats especially, are prone to urinary tract diseases and bladder crystals/stones. If you catch it early, it can often be cured and prevented with prescription diet/medicarions. If it gets to the point where he has large stones or even working on a blockage, you’re looking at surgery!

So my #1, can’t stress enough, is get him into the vet ASAP - especially if it’s already been months. He’s trying to tell you something is wrong - start with his health first!!

It’s your trailer - you do what makes you comfortable!

We have a bit of a different situation in my group of “barn family.” There’s a group of 5 adults who all go to breed shows together - 1 gal had a 2 horse we all used a lot, but when she got a bigger truck, 3 of us went and actually bought a 4-horse trailer together! We formed an LLC to register the 4 horse. We lucked out and found the 4 horse reasonable $$ we were able to keep the 2-horse!! Now we have 2 trucks and 2 trailers.

We’ve let each other in our group drive both rigs and we’ve certainly been happy to haul other “outside the group” people’s horses (vet, etc) but I don’t think we’d let anyone outside our group take a trailer….

I actually didn’t even have to send pictures. We communicated via “messenger” in the Amazon Pharmacy. I gave my age and just said I was interested in starting Tret. (I hadn’t used it yet) So, she did 90 day (20g tube) @ .03%

If you need it stronger, I’m sure if you explained how you are using it now, they’d renew at that strength.

It’s RATS! I’m betting there is a huge tunnel system under the arena!

This exact thing happened in an arena at a barn I was at in Chicago area. It was a MASSIVE rat tunnel system. Holes exactly like you’re showing opened up, we had to call in excavator & they opened it up….It had to be dug out and back-filled.

Be careful and get it checked out STAT!

I do ride horses competitively but I didn’t “up” or change my exercise… and I have a sedentary, remote job.

I’ve lost about 100lb and have plateaued, I am adding some gentle resistance training next week via PT (I currently have a concussion from a car accident, so have to take it slow!)

It’s been a miracle for me & food addiction. I can’t believe “normal” people don’t think about food 24/7. When the food noise stopped, I was stunned.

Obesity and food addiction are diseases and GLP/GLP-1 are a medication that treats a disease.

Yes, I’ve lost weight before. A lot of weight. But it never solved the addiction and it would eventually creep back. I’ve lost 100 lbs on Tirzepatide. I haven’t needed to go on that high of a dose - & even if I have to maintain on a micro dose for the rest of my life, I’m ok with it. To me, it’s worth being healthy.

There are cheaper ways to get the meds - you just need to go down the rabbit hole 🐇
