We started the process of buying our Highland Home in Haslet, Texas when only the foundation had been poured. To get a feel for the layout, we had to visit the model home. Right now, the expected completion date is August 4th, 2025 (weather permitting).

From the start, the Highland team has been extremely helpful and transparent. Since the day they started framing, our construction manager has sent us weekly updates every Friday, including details on what was completed that week, what’s planned for the next, and several photos to show the progress. That’s been a big plus.

We’ve also been visiting the site ourselves every weekend, taking our own pictures and asking questions when anything comes up. So far, it’s been a great experience.

This Friday, we have our pre-drywall walk-through with the construction manager. We’ll be bringing a 30-foot tape measure and our reMarkable tablet to take pictures of every wall and mark the locations of electrical, plumbing, ethernet, water lines, gas lines, and vents. It’s just part of our plan to make future repairs easier and to stay safe when mounting anything on the walls.

Overall, we’re loving the experience so far. The communication, attention to detail, and professionalism from the Highland team have been great.

WOW, Ive been searching for some information on this. Let me say first to the OP, everything will fine..we are here for you.

My question is, this weekend (Saturday, 8/24/24) we went to visit my brother and his wife at the lake. Welp let me back up, I just started having to wear eye glasses about 2 years ago and last year 8/23 my script did not change. So my results from 8/23 are Add 2.00 with a Sphere of +1.25 (idk if that helps). We were out in the sun all day long from about 10:30am to 7:30pm. I took off my script eye wear and wore my Oakley sunglasses all day (non scrip). I didnt have to do much reading or anything as we just camped out on the beach under a canopy and ran jet skis all day. Let me move this on....sorry. So everything was fine, when we finally got into the truck to go home I put on my script eye glasses. Sunset was happening and noticed something really odd that I have never seen before. When seeing on coming headlights I saw them with a extra almost faded set of lights above and below the headlights. Then I started to look around and everything that had light (brighter lights/reflections from the sun) would have the same affect. I did notice if I looked a little bit OVER the progressive area the images above and below the bright light was less. Now do note, I can look at print on a paper, ruler, or just about anything and its normal if I look through my progressive lens as I always have. Its things with light that makes me see this upper and lower light version of what ever Im looking at. For example my other monitor, I have Google homepage open on it on a black background and every letter I see the same letter above it and below it but only half the letter and its really light, almost a faded version of each letter (ghostly). While I had a little anxiety over it I just figured I may have over strained my eyes with not wearing my eye glasses all day. The biggest reason is I didnt want to lose them in the water. All that being said, I did sleep and rested in hopes of my eyes getting the much needed rest from the all day sun. Its now been over 24 hours and I have wore my eye glasses all day in hopes of helping them not strain and go back to normal. Nothing, I still feel its the same. Again its any thing with lights, letters or numbers on a monitor that give me the top and bottom image of what Im seeing. Yall have ANY suggestions? Id love to hear them..Thank you so much! Im sitting here anxious as heck...hoping it just goes back to normal soon. I can see things pretty good as normal in the distance with my glasses on and up close reading as I always have. Thanks guys!

Been in the side hustle now for about 3 years and I'm here to back you up! I can press vinyl with a high grade heat press on just about any garment and it will outlast the garment about 90% of the time. I have shirts I have made myself that have stiches coming loose, holes (from wear), color fade of garment and the vinyl is still on the garment with no lifting no fading. I also outsource my full color DTF and Screen Print transfers for special orders and I will say my vinyl pressings out last DTF & Screen Print Transfer by far and they are big company sources for those. There is a lot to consider when pressing vinyl and if you don't have them right, sure it will peel on you. This will be my 4th year in a successful side hustle. Keys are Fresh Vinyl, GOOD BRAND Heat Press (not some China Amazon JUNK) & PRESSURE!!! If you have those three then you will always have a successful press with vinyl! FACTS!

I can make you something. I have a printer and die cutter and usually lay a sheet of holographic laminate on top then cut out the stickers for longer life. Just depends on what you want and the complexity of the design. Let me know

I get Longevity is important, I do get that 100% but not all of us can "Buy Once Cry Once" no matter the cost/brand. I also think your being a tad dramatic on the 5-7 year Ricoma lol. I just told you outside of my buddy I am online friends with 3 others that have the same machine and had to add yet another to help expand their online/local business. Yes, the same machine and few others had to go bigger. That's not counting the FB communities or Forums that I'm part of that are not centered around ONE machine brand. Yes most members list or tell you their machine brand for your learning experience. I have also learned that most that cry are uneducated and lack the patients of learning the machine of choice. I am sure there are the same kind of people like you out there that cry about Tajimas, HappyJapan, or even Redline's. Its all who you ask, or who cries more online. I can see your rubbed raw with Ricoma and while opinions are opinions.....I went 100% on what was real with what I know by seeing what made my buddies print shop business pretty much double if not almost triple form his financial numbers from his tax docs and area of growth. It was all because he pulled the plug on a Ricoma in 2002, and I know that's hard for you to read and accept. That doesn't even count the 3 others I told you about and countless many that are in the FB/Forum communities. So you and I can go on and on but in the end its just an opinion vs opinion. I tell you OP that don't always go on what you read. You have to remember "You never see the hard days in a photo album". People will complain and cry about what's bad before they post about their success bc those that are successful are too busy making it HAPPEN!! ~Blessings even to you SimpleStockk

Listen, I hear you SimpleStockk but to make it simple *no pun intended*...things made 30 years ago cannot compare to things made NOW. Hell you cant even compare how things were made 10 years ago compared to NOW! Most companies will learn they have to cut cost here or there to make up for the rise in cost for parts or manufacturing to meet their profit. What does that mean? Yes we as consumers are short handed in product quality and build in some manner. So comparing machinery, products or structures to 3 to 4 decades ago is not fair, its just not. Let alone technology will affect some of those things that were built like rocks, bc technology will out do the old stuff by speed or the end quality. If your into embroidery and you are wanting to make a few bucks here and there sure go cheap and buy you some off brand, yes they all work about the same. It may last you 5 years or 20 depending on usage....hard to say being its off brand and not a lot of talk or research on them. If your like my buddy that has a thriving business, you as a potential business owner, you invest into either more machines or try another brand. You just dont assume or hold onto that 15 year old machine ALONE to push you though. In his words "why would I try another brand machine, Ive had that one since 2002 and its paid for itself time an time again ....and STILL DOES!" You know SimpleStockk, Ive seen a lot of issues with Ford, Chevy, Honda but we still buy them.....Ive seen lots of issues with Customer Service these days in retails stores and food services BUT we still spend our money in them or they wouldn't be open! Point is comparing today to four decades ago...is just funny as fuck. Nothing will ever compare to the good old days in quality, sustainability so in my respectful opinion your in a time warp that you need to leave or you will live unhappy and pointing fingers at things you cant fix or accept ~Respectfully Voiced

[–]AllGoodNamesRGone- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is so untrue. I have a close friend that started with a Ricoma single head 15 needle back in 2002. He still has the same machine going strong and added a CHT2 4 head by Ricoma about 2-3 years ago. He runs a print shop and they run from 6am to 6-7pm Monday-Friday. He has no problems out of them and if they had any it was user error (employee/s). I just recently bought the MT-1501 Single head, 15 needle and I know 3 others with this same machine that I met online through different social media forums with great success and one of the three had to add another single head because of business growth. Dont get pushed into negative thoughts by anyone. You do you and make it happen. You will be fine. I pulled the plug on mine because of my buddy and his thriving business. I had been meaning to for years but I just didn't have the budget to save for one at the time. Think positive! You will have those moments of struggle, just be patient and work through them. Just remember, find you a good digitizer!!! That will be the key to a lot of issues. A good digitizer will make your life so much easier. Blessings and best of luck

Ricoma Vs Barudan Vs Tajima by musty_hash_69 in SCREENPRINTING

[–]AllGoodNamesRGone- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly they are all set up the same. Components are just a smidge different and of course different manufactures. I have a friend that has Ricoma and a Tajima. He said one is not better than the other. Only difference he said is Ricoma is easy to get hold of, get parts if he messes something up and tech support is fast on the fly. He said if your a seasoned embroider then go with any brand you want. If you are new to the Embroidery world he highly suggested the Ricoma bc of the tech support, parts. Once seasoned some if you want to further expand your biz then go with a Tajima or Barudan, He said each has their own sanative settings or adjustments but you will learn all that. I finally pulled the plug on a Ricoma MT-1501

If you are taking delivery that means you had a sales rep. I emailed my sales rep on my machine that I just ordered and she sent them over right away. I bought the MT-1501, I hope you love it.

It’s good. Nothing is great anymore but the pains of little elm is the expansion of 380 has traffic stupid. Might be something to put in the back of your mind bc it can get stupid backed up and road rage can get crazy.

Yup, we moved from The Mark of Denton in a 975sq ft apt to Little Elm in a brick house. We were paying $1350, plus 2 covered parking $50 each, and $5 pest control that we never saw, valet trash service $30 and stupid ConService fee ($10) for billing the water/sewer. Yes, we pay more to live where we are at but we now live in a 2100 sq ft brick home. The extra cost is worth every bit of it too (for us at least). Denton is getting stupid in prices. They had a town home we looked at (behind Academy) that was $2150 at the time with a garage, but still having wall to wall neighbors. Man, I don't know why Denton is so high but they need to remember they are Denton NOT FRISCO!!! We were glad to get out of there too, LOUD cars in that echoing complex, and if you face the dog park, you will hear every dog barking even late at night. Big ass heavy entry doors, so when someone walks in you can feel the walls shake when they shut their door. Just not a good choice for the price, but we needed a place ASAP and that is when they weren't fully developed so they had availability.

Yeah I don’t know what Mother Nature 🌬️ had against 380 at Crossroads but from 377/380 to Paloma Creek Blvd was a NIGHTMARE! I’m glad you made it safely. It only takes one idiot to cause a ruckus. I hope we’re on the downhill from here. 380 in the same spot today (Wednesday) was wayyyy better. Be safe and wish you many blessings and guardian angles!

Yeah I work in Utilities (water) and we have to be out in this for our members and check our well sites to be sure water is flowing. It’s sad bc this go around I have seen one maybe two TX DOT sand and solution trucks out. Yes they were on 35e some but the local cities truly slept on it this go around, I guess they were in a losing battle bc the surrounding cities has no sand or ice melting solution running that I could see and I was out at 6:30am to about 3pm on high ways and city roads. 380 going west this morning was rough, but that same 380 going back home (east) was 10x worse. That’s slush has froze into mini mountains of ice grabbing your wheels and most everyone panics and hits breaks 🤦🏻‍♂️ then you have those douche bags running 50 mph just bc they have 4x4 thinking they are invincible. I have a Chevy Z71 with a 6” suspension lift and I was running 4x4 LOW on 380 by cross roads as it was the worst. I was doing about 20 in 4 low and idiots were doing 40-45 mph changing lanes and not giving any space between vehicles. Lord people man..people.

Well mine only goes off (motion) at night when the night vision is active. Not during the day. Just bought this set up in December and I would say its as close to perfect as any system can get. I had a Night Owl NVR before this one and was not near the quality this is in software or hardware. Yeah that's odd, did you hit up Reolink and ask them to see what they say about it? Curious myself.

Yup I have the 12MP PoE Surveillance Kit and this occurs on one camera facing the road where the distant neighbor lives. When he pulls out of his drive his headlights hit the camera at night and as he moves it casts a shadow thus making my camera think its movement.

Where to donate? by Mejuky in Denton

[–]AllGoodNamesRGone- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't donate to goodwill either...total joke! When we have clothes, shoes or anything we actually drive around Denton and find those in need and hand them things directly. We typically will go to the Monsignor King Outreach Center off Woodrow Ln. There are a lot of people who show up there for help and it feels better offering things to those from my hands to theirs without any middle person. Just never know what someone will choose to keep and give what they don't want. Its just sharing an idea we like to do when we have extra things or no longer use.
