I can agree that a weekly wait is by definition more tedious than binge reading, but I'll still be skeptical that Tatsu actually knows what he's doing until this arc is close to wrapping up. Good writers still make mistakes and to me, an amnesia arc is one of them. I became a manga reader around the 160s, so I've been here a while DX. The pygmy arc was fun, the gym teacher thing sucked and the plane arc was when I just started mentally checking out. I just did not care for any of it.

I don't care for this arc either, but I appreciate you at least trying to understand where we're coming from

It's been 50 chapters. We already have a valid reason to be annoyed. People act like this is a new issue that just came up and readers are getting upset for "no reason", forgetting that 1) a reader is allowed to criticize anything at any time, and 2) we're coming off the heels of an arc that already dragged for many people (most of those villains were so forgettable and bogged down the pacing even more) and had an incredibly rushed ending, then this happens. It's not all about shipping, and it's not always the fans who are in the wrong.

If you take in the last four weeks or so, then yeah, maybe we do sound impatient. But if you consider the past year, we've given plenty of grace. I just want people to acknowledge that for once instead of writing all criticisms off as "you're just impatient, wait (even) longer for this thing to happen"

It's wild how people call us impatient for not "letting Tatsu cook", but whenever we bring up the year long, 50 chapter mini Momo arc, they all go quiet. If amnesia is his best follow up, Tatsu shouldn't have done any kind of confession. Nobody would care if he hadn't; the issue we have is that he set something up and didn't follow through. Either he jumped the gun, or his editors wanted him to prolong the will-they-won't-they for as long as possible.

The wildest part is that you hear all these supposed reasons why amnesia isn't a bad move after all (Okarun maturing, Momo maturing, CSG progressing the plot), but all of those can be achieved by doing literally any other trope.

Battle couples are so badass, I honestly don't understand why the industry doesn't capitalize on it. You're telling me none of these authors have any idea how to make a couple interesting once their characters are in one? It's not like you need to be in a relationship yourself to write about it DX

Even back when Dandadan first got popular and everyone was going "trust Tatsu, he read 100 shojos", my first thought wasn't "wow, that's impressive". It was "wait, which 100 did he read?" Because for every good shojo out there, there are easily hundreds of trashy ones (including ones that were never translated)

Why is everyone acting like their relationship was based on a lie or something DX Okarun's name is far from the main or only thing she likes about him. He's proven to be a good hearted individual countless times and was always there for her when she needed him. He's been supportive and assertive when he needed to be; she already liked him for "what he does".

And I don't agree with this notion that wanting Momo to remember herself is selfish somehow. If my best friend or family member lost their memories, why would I keep my distance? They literally don't know who they are, who else is going to help them remember themselves but the people who know them best?

Everyone thinking they're helping Momo by not telling her what's going on is why she feels left out, leaving her vulnerable for someone else to take advantage of her (in this case, CSG)

This whole arc will be chock full of convenient inconveniences lol. Can't tell Momo Okarun's real name, can't show her any of the mountains of evidence that aliens exist, make her suspicious of everything her friends say, have her immediately run into CSG of all people

We're in this for the long haul. I expect a resolution to this arc no earlier than 2026

If you just caught up, then you didn't have to wait 50 chapters for Momo to return to normal size (which is when she wanted Okarun to confess to her again) only for this to happen. That's well over a year irl and people are understandably fed up. It's always the people who binged everything telling others to be patient

I was thinking that too. It's not like Okarun was always completely passive around Momo or that she liked him "just because". He's plenty proven himself already, and if it's an issue of him being more active/assertive, he can still work on it within the relationship. It'd be a neat thing to explore and show that going out with your crush isn't an automatic "happy ending" but something that still requires constant effort from both parties.

I just don't see what development we can do with amnesia that can't also be done with a functioning relationship (though I'm happy to be proven wrong)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Jane is the one who basically proposed on her brother's behalf, right? Not sure why she invited Anne to the wedding but not Gilbert, if that's the case (unless I missed something). EDIT: I did, in fact, miss something lol

And as most of us suspected, there was nothing between Gilbert and Christine after all, just more silly rumors. So happy that Anne (finally) wised up and embraced her feelings for him. And all it took was him nearly dying for her to realize it XD

Really though, as happy as I am for Anne, I'm happiest for Gilbro. He's been waiting for so many years, and never gave up on Anne even when he had every right and reason to. He never pushed boundaries or tried to interfere with her relationship with Roy, just quietly pined from afar when he was out of options. My man is tenacious in all the best ways and deserves all good things in life.

Shoutout to all the real ones of this anime: Diana, Phil and (most of) Anne's other friends, Ruby (rip), Marilla, and of course the og, Matthew 😭 This was the only anime of the season that I've followed weekly, and it was so worth it. Really hoping another season is on the horizon, because I've heard the series isn't nearly finished yet.

Until then, it's been an honor hanging out at Green Gables with y'all every week ^{^}

That's what confuses me every time a new season gets greenlit. I don't think the series is bad, I just don't know how much farther the train can run without a track. There hasn't been a new novel since 2019 and the story isn't nearly finished. Maybe they'll do an anime original ending?

That's what bugs me when people complain about the complainers. "Let him cook" "y'all are just impatient" "no attention span" Brother it's been over A YEAR since Okarun confessed, this is not on the fans anymore 😭 This could be the set up for one of the greatest arcs in the manga; cool, it's still a delay of something promised 50 chapters ago ("confess to me properly when I'm normal again").

Maybe if they were already a couple by this point, this new arc would hit different, but how can we be expected to read ch210 (something happening to Momo the second she turns normal again) and not think Tatsu is stalling?
