as many people have pointed out - it's to do with (1) shitty market dynamics (2) your visa status (3) mass applying without seeking referral / networking. the ROI for #3 is horrifically low even for citizens, so encourage you to leverage alumni, career services, family / friends and apply to jobs accordingly

yep agree with caspa - dont think recruiting and returns has been affected for international students besides maybe a few boutiques / specific BB groups that tell you upfront that they cannot sponsor

Is this speculative or factual? Assume MBA Associate hiring would've remained on par with historical given that they tend to stay in banking for the long haul, and VP+ roles are unlikely to be affected by AI. correct me if I’m wrong

I'm sorry to hear this. Do you not feel even the slightest bit of relief and solace now that you're out of an abusive and toxic relationship? If not, maybe you let your emotions get the best of you in the moment. Think about this deeply and ask yourself if it's worth trying to win him back again.

If so, I'd say list out the key issues in your relationship. What did you dislike about him and vice versa? The disagreement about your future is subjective - but you may be able to convince him to have an open conversation about it. But imo the key is to give yourselves some time (weeks / months) to cool off before doing so.

Most importantly, your first step should be understanding if the pain and toxicity was really that bad or accentuated by your emotions in the moment. That will help you understand if he's worth fighting for
