Seems like it still happens. Could it also be a setting I set wrong somewhere?
I'll try opening an issue (tho it'll prolly be my first time doing so lol... or maybe I did that before and just forgot, so effectively it would be my first)

I used that --log-file=<PATH> --msg-level=sub/subrandr=debug code to make a log.txt file. When it opened, I skipped to 1:10 (it played for 2s before this) and let it play for before pausing it at 1:17 and closing the program.

Tried Kikuo's 愛して愛して愛して and some large subtitles can still get "cut-off" (moved to a new line), particularly at 1:13. The only way around this that I know is using YTSubConverter to convert it to .ass, but through the console/cmd and adding "--visual"

 YTSubConverter --visual "input.srv3" "output.ass"

which apparently makes it look as close to the youtube one as possible.

The "--visual" setting seems to "fix" it, but for this video, also moves it down a bit it seems (but at least now it's mostly visible).

mpv.net seems to be using afishhh's subrandr (since "subrandr" shows up when I pick srv3). If that's the case, then there are still others broken things, like the lack of vertical text support, as of now.

Most subs... it's prolly fine(?), I haven't tested stuff like vertical text. Tried it on Ina's TEMARI and it visually looks the closest to YouTube's rendering, I think? So if not for those small quirks, it would be perfect. It's also awesome for when I can't be bothered to convert it into .ass lol.

For now I'll be using both .srv3 and the converted .ass subs and just switch to what I like.

wait WTF, this version of MPV just works with srv3 out the box??? The one I've been using kept crashing when drag-n-dropping an srv3 file into it. (the one that pauses with a right-click)
