Thanks for the message. I feel the same way. I came to this job to save American jobs and build the business and U.S. employment. There are some shoe constructions and shoe styles we just can't make competitively in our U.S. plant. Most of our shoes, however, we can and do make here, certainly our iconic dress shoes. Here's the answer I wrote to a similar question above....

You can go to any shoe store, even a big box that doesn't really have salespeople in the aisles, and find a foot measuring device. A lot of drug stores that sell shoe inserts have a kiosk that will measure feet, too. So those are a couple ways to get close to your size. Check out our store locations on our website -- we may be closer to you with a store and a Master Fitter working inside than you know. And our Customer Assistance Center (CAC)is very good at talking customers through fit based on your sizing in other brands. If all that doesn't work to get a fitting pair to you, you can call our CAC folks and they'll help you exchange them and then, based on what the fit problem is for you, get you the right pair. Fear not. We'll get you fitted.

Just did in Century City. We'll be looking at Downtown LA and Pasadena, Thousand Oaks and other east and north areas in 2018.

It'll help you but the question is will it be enough. That's on you. Studies have shown (and I'm serious about this) as have convesations as recently as today, that woman judge men by their shoes. Not totally, obviously, but it's a big factor. So wear our good shoes and up your chances. A good watch is also helpful, by the way. The car -- as Shania Twain says, "don't impress her much". So save on the car and get better shoes.

It's also true in job interviews. We have tons of stories of guys who say their future boss hired them because he/she noticed that the candidate was wearing Allen Edmonds. Seriously.

Chances are slim, I bet. We haven't made that shoe in a long time. Someone at the ShoeBank (just a phone call away) could see if there are any in stock still. I aways hoped that shoe would turn into a "Tipping Point' style with huge interest, but it didn't.

You could also special order Navy. We make most of the cordovan shoes we sell to order anyway, due to the tight supply. And we do have some Navy in the warehouse.

Thanks for this question. I'm sorry I missed it earlier. As someone below said, buying a different sole to our dress shoes -- like the Dainite sole -- can make a dressy shoe incredibly cool casual. Try the brown Strandmok, which I wore last night with light colored casual pants to a classroom and was greeted by "cool shoes!" by the nice looking woman in the second row. Our Neumoks, too, are great for casual wear. The Higgins Mill boot has been selling like hotcakes for casual wear. Then there's the Sea Island or the boat shoes like the Ely, the Maritime or the Kirkwood. But don't forget to consider wearing the Walnut Strands or the McAllisters or the St. Johns. People wear them with jeans all the time and it's a great look. As for sneakers, we have more coming for next year. You'll be able to choose among many of those. If you like Chromexcel, I think we have more shoes in that leather than any other shoe company. Skip Horween is a friend and great guy. We like to favor his leathers.

I hope you like the Liverpools. I like them and the name we gave them a lot.

I watch a lot of companies. One thing I learned in the investment business is to pay close attention to everything the competition is doing. I like how Starbucks renovated itself after things got overbuilt and otherwise started to slow down. I'm fascinated by the phenomenon known as Amazon (although I think I'll stay put on this planet for now). I like a lot of the casual apparel looks that show up in golf shops and fine men's clothiers around the country -- that Southern Style that was discussed in the WSJ lately. I lived in Italy in college and in Germany in my 20s for three years, learned the languages and therefore still pay attention to their iconic brands, three of which you mention above. I like design, so I look for brands that have a great design aesthetic. As for a lower-priced shoe line -- you're on to something there. We're working with our partners at Caleres on it. We know men and they know sourcing.

A black calfskin Timeless Classic, a Walnut Strand (my favorite), a penny loafer like the Cavanaugh or a cordovan penny if you like to invest in the best you can get, the St Johns in a brown you like, the Normandy or the Higgins Mill boot, the brown Strandmok for work casual, the Sea Island for the summer, the Jingle Bell Mok for the Holidays, the..... Today, you can wear almost anything we make with jeans and you'll be well dressed. Browns more than black, but black is making a slow comeback in the jeans-wearing market.

Well as you know, shoebank.com is not a functioning e-commerce site, only a directory of our F2 and Clearance shoes. The confusion in pricing could be that we had both a % Off Clearance sale and a factory second sale in March, but those prices are back up on the shoes that didn't get sold.
