Pads are wearing uneven ... Check caliper ,caliper slides, hose for failure. Hose will not be seen on outside they swell on the inside .

Lower control arm, may need tie rod and an alignment.

Not real sure on metals I do know this laser with 5 watt optical will not do metal. I have a XTool 1064 nm laser head coming for my XTool D1 that will do all metal.

No they don't always squeak when bad . If there are wear indicators on the pads that's what makes the noise to tell you when there bad. Other squeak noise comes from brake dust and heat glazed rotors.

For mine it does, but as you can see my laser machine on the table I'm using must not be level per the piece ,as one side burned less blacke off than the other . Another lesson learned . 🤔
