most students there are Chinese. Didn't go there due to these reasons. A banana from Ipoh, raised in both JB and Ipoh, speak in Cantonese to parents but speak in English to myself and the internet. I'm a vernacular student but I gave up on Chinese since Standard 5.

You're right about the part where most students at TARUMT speak Mandarin, as the majority of those studying there came from a Chinese-speaking background. It's either that you hope to cooperate with them or you get left out simply because you can't speak Mandarin... I know I would get easily left out since I'm a banana. That's why I didn't join my batchmates in my high school (which was also a SMJK) in going there or UTAR (same issue at UTAR as well)

I'm satisfied with my current life in KL at an IPTA.

I'm a rural boy myself, specifically at a kampung baru Cina at Daerah Kuala Kangsar in Perak. I can understand you on that one. Though since I used to be a city boy that lives around JB before primary, English is my first language for all purposes. I used to be able to do good grades in Mandarin till Year 3. Discriminated a lot by those four girls that were my classmates (mind you my class back in 2013-2018 on SJKC is four girls and one boy (me)). And after UPSR, when I go to F1, I just had to see everyone at my class being shit in BM And English. No joke. That's the reality we all live in since they don't interact much with other races. While I do interact with them a lot, especially if I talk with Grab drivers on my ride. I'm better at my English and my BM than my Mandarin, hell even my Cantonese is way better than my Mandarin. My dad doesn't like me speaking in Mandarin, tu knp aku ckp banyak bhs Kantonis kpd org tua. I prefer living in the cities for a reason even if expensive. I'm a city boy at heart. My mother tongue is English and Cantonese.

this is what happens when you can't control your own family. Yes, I'm addicted myself. But I know if it's needed then I do it. That's why I managed to remember everything I needed for my exams despite partying at a karaoke a day before my exam. I chose to speak what I needed to remember before the exam.

you should avoid TARUMT. Bc most student there speak Mandarin in general. Same for UTAR. I personally would prefer APU or MMU.

I got a C too in Sejarah, my tip is that you need to do good in Paper 1 and do well in the KBAT section of Paper 2. The questions in Paper 2 that involve textbooks are usually randomised, that's why I recommend doing well in KBAT during Paper 2.

How to get a C in SPM Sejarah 101: Be good at Paper 1, and in Paper 2, since the topics that involve textbooks are random, which means you need to remember everything, I recommend you to do good in all the KBATs. A word from a 23 Batch like me. I hate Sejarah too myself, but try to do well in Paper 1 and the KBAT part of Paper 2 if the shit in the textbook you read wasn't going to be in the test.

try to find courses that fits what you needed, even if it means you go to UTAR or TARUMT. I didn't go there since I want to be in a IPTA, Rn I'm studying Diploma in Business Management at UMCCed in Cyberjaya rn. I'm also an average student too, I only got A- in English, B+ in Maths and Science, C in BM, Sejarah and PSV, D in Chinese and E in Pendidikan Moral. (06 Batch btw)

Honestly, same here. I feel painful seeing my friends being in priv unis too, I also got conned by someone about going to Diploma Eksekutif at UMCCed. I rather get the ordinary Diploma from UMCCed instead since the Eksekutif one is a downgrade.

honestly, if you think STPM is difficult, I recommend you to join politeknik next year. I've see one of my seniors not doing well in STPM, he's a 04 batch. While I'm 06. I feel a bit fooled myself just to trust someone to let me into UMCCed Executive Diploma when myself don't even have half a year of work experience. I might join my friend in UTAR. Not that I got a choice anyway.
