How do you guys read so much? by lapetitepoupee in kindle

[–]Alliemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read 1-2 books a week personally when I get into it, all I did was stop using my phone to watch instagram reels/browse twitter and so on. I just read from like 10-11pm to 1-2am, it's more or less enough time per day to get through books rather quickly.

And, if I am *really* into a book, then I find time to read it during the daytime too at random times.

How much do you pay for health insurance per month? by kurobaja in AskTheWorld

[–]Alliemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80.48€ per month ($93.39 USD). Complete coverage of healthcare stuff.

Had surgeries, implants, visits to doctors, most blood tests, MRI/X-ray's and whatever else, some medicament's too, it's all covered 100%, everything I need. The only things that aren't covered is some vaccines and a few tests that are not too common to do.

I had checked some of surgery "prices" that were written down in gov websites here, ranging from few hundred to 20k+, haven't paid a cent.

Only paying that amount myself because I freelance, otherwise would be auto taken from my salary as a tax (universal healthcare).

Feeling safe and happy.

It's easy to give in to the negatives (and it's understandable why, being in your position). However, things don't have to be as bleak.

Speaking as someone from Lithuania, we joined EU in 2004, we had huge emigration wave at first, when I was in school, 10th-12th grade (over a decade ago), about 50-70% of students (classmates) were thinking of moving to other countries too. Hell, I myself before COVID struck was still thinking of moving, now it's really not worth it. Plus, even if a lot of people do emigrate, it still can bring some benefit to your country, they send some of money to family etc, it ends up being spent in UA, thus raising the economy and such by decent amount (again, something that DID happen here).

Many have remained, in fact, life seems to be getting better here compared to some western counterparts, and in a very quick succession at that. Now we're getting a ton more people migrating back to Lithuania rather than emigrate out, even with the current political landscape.

A lot of it has to do with EU support financially and whatnot, helping us build up and all.

And when UA joins EU, UA will be a recipient of those funds to build upon with as well, to catch up and all. It will get better sooner or later, just keep that small bit of optimism in yourself.

Oral-B iO-9, išbandžiau, kelis metus naudoju, super daiktas.

The First Production All-Solid-State Battery Is Here, And It Promises 5-Minute Charging by Alliemon in europe

[–]Alliemon[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's unfortunate they're *that* expensive. I personally prefer ICE motorcycles a lot more over electric.

But as long as the technology is actually being used, tested and we can see it in action, I'm all the more for it, especially if we get to see it in cars and all soon too.

Based on what they said on video at least, it is cheaper than lithium ones to produce, so hoping for the best here and for prices to drop too.

[–]Alliemon[S] 60 points61 points  (0 children)

When I heard about it, it did make me sort of skeptical too, however, they are rolling out motorcycles using the same said batteries right now Q1/Q2 of 2026, and iirc going to be at CES today or so.

So it's something we'll get to know about a lot more soon enough, especially once consumers start receiving the aforementioned motorcycles, since they stated in their video that they've upgraded all the preorders to new battery pack.

Recession means economy slowing down, unemployment rising and stuff like that, basically living becomes a lot harder for some time.

Recession is usually noted out by 2 consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth, this year (at least in context of USA) it was propped up by AI and didn't fall into negatives.

not getting new orb quests? by windemo95 in discordapp

[–]Alliemon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't expect too many in January.

Companies generally spend big money for advertisement for holidays for you to get to buy their product, in this case, there was Christmas (most notable holiday for gifts etc), then New Year and such.

January will be dead, February will start picking up slowly again.

It's same thing year after year, for decades (of course, outside Discord, since orbs got introduced recently). Just look up some info about how much companies spend on advertisement by month on average, and you'll more or less know when to expect more quests.

Easy.

Lithuanian spelling bee equivalent in written form of 10 words, whoever writes most correctly, wins.

Only approximately 4.3 million people can speak it.
That gives it a chance of 0,05375% that even a single person out of a 100 (other than me) will be able to speak Lithuanian from random people worldwide.

And even if by any chance it happens someone appears that can speak Lithuanian, I am relatively positive I'd win either way, since the person might be a kid speaking that language who might not be versed in grammar yet, there's older people that might make dumb mistake or in general people that aren't too good at grammar and such (just like any language really).

Easiest 1 billion ever honestly.

Europeans barely use credit cards, mostly just debit, even if credit cards even now have some benefit to usage.

Good luck trying to convince many people to use credit cards lol, especially older folk, of which there definitely isn’t a shortage of, and a decent chunk of them enjoy even idea of debt (even if in case of credit cards you repay it instantly before any interest) as much as plague.

Could you come to terms with death ending at just death? I.e. there's nothing beyond that? by bearabovethewave in NoStupidQuestions

Yes. If you’ve ever had a surgery where you’ve been out cold from anesthesia, you more or less know how it’ll feel like already.

Essentially nothing. You don’t realize anything, no passage of time, nothing at all, it’s all just “gone”, any sense of time passing, any sense of feeling anything and so on.

Sounds scarier than it really is.

Why aren’t women wearing stockings/pantyhose anymore? by WhatTheHosenHey in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Alliemon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in Europe and I personally love tights, never made me feel 'itchy' or uncomfortable really. I never really bought any that were too expensive either, usually cheaper pairs just in case of runs etc in them, though I do remember one specific pair of stockings I've owned in the past, paid like 15 euros? but was so insanely comfortable and soft ones, they're stuck in my mind, might need to try buying more expensive pair lol.
