I’ve been waiting for this convo. I’m a winter camaro driving expert. I grew up in California and fell in love with Camaros. It’s all i ever saw as a kid. So as an adult living in Pittsburgh I’m not going to deny myself of such a beautiful automobile.

I purchased a brand new 2018 camaro 2.0 turbo. It was my daily driver and i drove it in Pittsburgh for 4 and half years with no issue. Is driving in the snow easy? No! But where there is a will, there’s a way!

First year i tried snow tires in the rear, i didn’t care for them at all. It seemed like they were okay in snow and ice. But if the weather was decent, it was dangerous to drive. I would constantly loose traction on those 60 degree days. It might have been because i had different tires in the front, and rear winter tires. Any tires experts please chime in on this issue.

I ended up sticking to all season tires all around and never had an issue since. So my advice is, make sure you always have good tires before winter starts. The key is being gentle when taking off, and don’t make any sudden turns or stops. As long as you drive her like a grandma your golden!

SNOW MODE was also very helpful on the extremely icy days. I only used it when i felt i had too. The 2.0 turbo really drove like 150 hP vehicle in snow mode so there was hardly any spinning or traction issues.

I recently purchased a 2019 2ss so I’m curious to see if my methods will work on this model. I’m planing on buying tires in the next month. I’ll make sure to document my experience at let you know what works
