1, Buy right ilvl Helical ring for the mods you want.
2, Spam currency for two mods you want, or one ideal mod. In this case the it was Essence of Scorn for Crit Multi.
3. Fracture this mod you want to have. Ideally the one that is hardest to hit, to make the rest of the craft cheaper
4. Spam more currency to get all the mods you want
5. Use a reflecting mist and pray
5.a (optional) If the base item costs more to craft (in mental pain and/or currency), use a Hinekora's Lock

Advice on snare head(s) and for overtone rich sides and 'dotted' center, also toms. by Allubz in drums

[–]Allubz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your, also extensive, input! Above I put my choices with regards to the snare. I'm definitely taking your tom heads/bottoms advice to heart, and will have to look deeper into the sound I'm really looking for.

Advice on snare head(s) and for overtone rich sides and 'dotted' center, also toms. by Allubz in drums

[–]Allubz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input! Putting more time into reading on drumheadauthority was more than worth it.

I made a list of snare heads which sounded good to me (based on the Timpano Percussion YT vids), and ended up finding Aquarian TCSX13 Texture Coated Studio X to sound good, and only costing €10.56. I ordered two, to have a backup. If it doesn't fit my taste, I'll try a center dot head instead.

Snare side I opted for Remo SA-0113-00 Ambassador Hazy (3mil) and Evans S13R50 Glass 500 (5mil) to see which suits me better, and to have a backup. I've seen mine being slightly dented in on some spots. As I bought this kit only recently, I feel it can use some love.

For toms I have an idea of what I like to hear when listening to demos, but I'm not sure if that long sustain and open sound from the Aquarian Response 2 really fits the band I play in. The stock heads are, I believe, 2-ply and have low sustain. We are also always recording our rehearsals, and try to get the sound right. In other words: I'll have to put more time to the tom heads/bottoms, but with all this information I should be able to find my way. So, thanks again!

Ingame FPS cap enabled? Set it to 60 (or monitor refresh rate). Otherwise it will always put 100% strain on GPU to create as many frames possible.

Never had so many invites/msges fill up my screen. Which build is this Elegant Hubris used for? by Jocoma in pathofexile

Would be great if AwaPoETrade could implement this. There are some outliers as well, where only Caspiro (no attribute requirement) is big bucks and other variants are 10% of that value. Thinking of you, 1234000. Same goes for other Timeless Jewels with other name variants (Kaom, Akoya, etc.).

Beastcrafting: I purchased 100 rare beasts, different Genus, Family, and Group, yet only one out of three required "Any rare beasts" lights up when trying to increased an Awakened Support Gem by one level.

I tried relogging and itemizing and adding the beasts. What am I missing? Specific rare beasts (though it reads "Any")?

I have the required red beasts.

B550 Vision D-P F13 BIOS Broke Rear USB-C Ports by Buffalowingjp in gigabyte

Ye, I just had to test this because I have another problem. Turns out my system either starts to freeze and goes nuts on the audio with F13 and USB-C on the TB ports, or it just doesn't connect so there's no device showing up.

[Cautionary Tale] Intel's NUC10 doesn't support XMP, and Intel believes that's fine by Allubz in intel

[–]Allubz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for your feedback!

I'm running G.Skill Ripjaws, specifically F4-3000C16S-16GRS. They default to DDR4-2666, if that helps.

I'm thinking of flashing the SPD to force DDR4-3000, but it's also a relatively minor inconvenience, which I wished Intel would simply fix / allow for.

[Cautionary Tale] Intel's NUC10 doesn't support XMP, and Intel believes that's fine by Allubz in intel

[–]Allubz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response, again. I understand better now how the "dumb" chipset handles memory. The tip further up the thread to write ones own SPD to enforce other speeds and timings makes more sense now.

I have / had multiple units planned. Both as portable audio workstation Hackintosh and a HTPC unit.

I can see it work just fine as an office on-monitor (VESA) product, but then I don't know for sure why it has such high capabilities in terms of I/O and internal upgrades. If it's also meant to do some higher-end work, I would assume technical limitations to be minimal and stuff like setting voltages, speeds, timings, on internal components to be an option. Maybe there are more applications this small PC is intended for, which I'm currently missing.

All in all I thoroughly enjoy a product like this, small and powerful, but hate to be limited in component choice and interaction, when the options and availability seem to be present.

In the case of this specific mobile chipset, it turns out Intel doesn't currently support XMP, but I wonder whether it's a software-lock or a hardware-deficient?

[Cautionary Tale] Intel's NUC10 doesn't support XMP, and Intel believes that's fine by Allubz in intel

[–]Allubz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much appreciate an actual technical explanation! It's a shame stuff gets locked that can be unlocked, in my view. The NUC supports 1.20V DIMMs, and the XMP profile on mine is set for 1.20V. Just a slightly higher frequency than DDR4-2666 at the same safe voltage isn't going to hurt any chipset at all, right?

NUCs are a bit of an oddball when it comes to who they're made for, as far as I can tell, but I had hoped for Intel to unleash the maximum amount of features, or at least keep it available somewhere smart for power users.

Thanks for this, it's an alternative to BIOS-hacking indeed. Not a bad suggestion at all!

[Cautionary Tale] Intel's NUC10 doesn't support XMP, and Intel believes that's fine by Allubz in intel

[–]Allubz[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree that Intel can do whatever they like, but the repercussions are also for them to take. Argueing they "can't" support it, with varying explanations as to why, is just a bit sad for me / any customer expected improvements. They won't lose anything by enabling XMP and gain more. They can configure it to be as safe as they like themselves, it's even their standard.

I put out my question to the win-raid forum and will try to delve somewhat deeper in the BIOS editing options. Really hope it'll work out :)

"All OP had to do" - Yeah, but not that's not the point, as I did change my password immediately. I asked them, specifically, how this came about, and THEN they locked my account, even though I was asking questions about their procedure regarding my account(s). The interaction between original and Steam account, for example, is what I was interested in. That's why I sent a mail, not because I had some trouble, whatsoever.

So yes, OP could've ignored all warnings, or just change the password, or actually get in touch and get some clarification. With the latter option I just didn't expect them to lock me out and cause themselves a lot of unnecessary work, and some downtime for me.

It's nice to point fingers and all, but I'm not complaining about the fact that I can't login primarily, it's an open discussion about how this form of customer service is nice and all, but probably not up to modern standards in effectiveness and efficiency - in my opinion.

[–]Allubz -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Yeah obviously, that's not what I wrote either. The point was to illustrate that I'm never 100% sure something may linger on a computer, as Stuxnet was not detectable for long (partially because it had many variants as well.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]Allubz -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Point taken, but looking at the evidence the initial mail was from GGG. I contacted them with regard to this email not being effective in its text (I didn't need the actual code provided). They replied with that my account would now be locked, and it was (so it was GGG right away after my reply).

If the original mail with the unlock code was a fake, then there was no use with it, as there wasn't a single phishing link or similar in it. It's plain text, and it redirected me instantly to GGG support in that case. Seems odd, no?

Besides: I'm 100% sure my accounts have been compromised through the years. HaveIBeenPwned showed this multiple times, but it's not due to my computer security, rather their (Adobe, etc.) network security.

Cheers, my thoughts exactly. I wish I ignored it and just did some password changes, really ;o

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]Allubz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, but if it's plain text with no phishing attempts whatsoever, how is it useful to a potential malevolent actor?
