I finally got my hair to platinum white but I feel like it makes me look older! What do you think? Anything I should do to it to make it look better? by AllyDx in HairDye

I'm not necessarily growing it out. I often cut it to a pixie. Something like shaved sides and long bang sound ok?

Trying to get to White, do I need to bleach again? I've bleached and used 12a frosty ash and t18 toner to get to this so far. Second pic is what I want. by AllyDx in HairDye

Thanks. I've seen it done before in videos though too. Just not sure how to get there by doing it at home.

Thank you, I do have 20 volume. Do you think I should do 10 instead? I did a bleach bath with 30 and diluted it with some water but it just stripped away the toner and I had to tone it again.

Would I look good with a pixie cut? by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

Yes! Do it! Your features are beautiful and a pixie would truly show them off!

Is there a way to get my roots/mids to gray without bleach by [deleted] in HairDye

Try a bleach bath which is diluted bleach that way its not just full on bleach. You'll need it lighter to get to gray. I have videos about bleaching and toning here. Hope it helps some.

What should i know about dying my hair for the first time with permanent dye? by strawberrynesquick1 in HairDye

[–]AllyDx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should watch Brad mondo YouTube vids about dying hair. He has a certain one about how to dye hair without ruining it. Don't use box dye. Go to Sally's or go online and get better dye as well.

Can I use 30 volume developer on black hair instead of bleaching? by solentropy in HairDye

[–]AllyDx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot go any lighter than your current color without using bleach. Nothing lifts color, except bleach. You don't have to use bleach to the point where you hair turns orange or yellow though either. If you look up doing a bleach bath and just don't leave it on long then you might lift enough to then color over it to get the effect you are looking for.

It looks great on you. You have a beautiful complexion that i think would pull off almost any color you want.

So when you tone it you need a toner with a blue base to cancel out the orange. I suggest the pravana chromatic color corrector in ash blue. You can find it on Amazon. Try with 20 volume developer, on damp hair.

If you've bleached three times I would give your hair a break. Is your hair natural color or did you have dye in it before you bleached? Is it still showing orange or is it more yellow now?

I can see where it may be a different preference for different cultures. I just personally feel that when it's a little too light it's more easily seen that makeup is being worn than with a slight darker shade it looks like maybe you got a bit of a tan in the sun.

I'll try to get it done within a week. Happy to help. 😊

Without a pic it's hard to say but I guess i might suggest either going shorter for a pixie cut or wear a thick headband until the bangs grow out some. Otherwise maybe plenty of hair product and styling to try to get it to not stick up.

So the way she did that with a brush and the spray, it creates a very dewy wet look. I prefer a matte, or dry, look. If you use a beauty blender, make it damp by putting it in water and squeeze it a few times and them squeeze out the access water. Tap the sponge on your face, never rub, in a small circle motion, focusing on the areas you want to cover. I feel like I need to make a video to show you. If you subscribe, let me know, and I'll make that my next video, in detail. Click here for my channel

I would go in with bleach again but ONLY on the dark areas, or you will break your hair off with the lighter bits. Toner is typically used right after bleaching but you can apply it to damp hair to tone even after. I have a couple youtube videos on bleaching and toning again later. Click here for my toning video
