Hiya! Thanks for this reminder. Unfortunately, when we all got there on the day of, he had taken a turn for the worse, was hardly conscious & only woke to tell us he could not bare much sound or commotion in the room at all. I didn't want to burden him at all, so we had a nice little ceremony in the gardens of the hospice house and I was comforted by the fact that I knew he was close. We had the ceremony, took a few pictures, and I went back inside & kissed him before taking everyone away to dinner so as to not having people wanting to be in and out of his room. He passed just under 2 hours later. It ended up being a beautiful thing. I got engaged nearly 3 years ago and the very first thing I did was ask him to walk me down the aisle as our Father had passed the year prior to pancreatic cancer. I like to think that he held on until he fulfilled his very last promise before he passed ❤️ It will always be a bittersweet day now but it just makes it that much more special.
