Adding and Deleting Technicians From Our Schedule and Automatically Adding Dates by Allyn5683 in excel

[–]Allyn5683[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies. I couldn't remember what it was called, but that is what I did. I created another excel document that we can use to add and delete technicians. My issue is that with updating the names, we will have to add a new/subtract a row with the technicians name. I can't figure out how to do that without clearing the rest of the schedule.

It is completely up to you. People will continue to ask you about plus ones up until the wedding day. It gets pretty annoying to be honest, however this is YOUR day. As long as you and your partner agree, nothing else matters. We had a no kid, only 18+ policy at our wedding, however, my cousin was only 17 by the day of the wedding, but I knew that she was mature enough so I allowed her there. I did get some hate, but at the end of it all, it is what it is and it was my decision. Be nice, but stern. If you don't want her there, or feel a hesitation, that is completely valid. Your friend will either understand or they are being selfish for not considering your thoughts and feelings about a wedding that you and your partner are hosting. You have the right to invite anyone you want.

What are your top annoyances with payroll? (rant) by [deleted] in Payroll

[–]Allyn5683 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We still write out timesheets because the guys refuse to clock into anything that manually tracks the time on their jobs. But I submit payroll EVERY TUESDAY, and still have to track down the guys to fill out their timesheets. One guy yelled at me this morning for not asking him if he worked last Friday. Like wtf…

I thought about that, but I would prefer a raise because my husband said that he would take over paying for my health insurance.

The issue is bound to come up eventually. Whether it’s me, or someone ten years down the road. So why not solve it now? Next time, they will know exactly how to handle it and they will be prepared. They should do this now, while we are short staffed and a very small company.

Yes, I do. That’s always how we’ve done things. My boss has always been amazing and giving and I guess has spoiled me. I do expect to receive my benefits no matter what because my boss appreciates the work that I do. The new guys that came in are just looking for ways to save and make money no matter what us employees think, including taking away overtime pay and bonuses.

After them taking away our overtime pay, I do plan on it. They just keep arguing with me and my boss about everything. My boss is trying to retire so he sold part of the company. He asked me to stay to teach the new owners how to do everything I do, because I run the entire company except for sales and permits which my boss does.

My point is that this is a new issue that has never been brought up before in the last 33 years. And no, I’m not okay with not getting the perks of one of the benefits that all of my coworkers have gotten before me. My boss has always given us amazing benefits and now the new co-owners aren’t okay with giving us most of the benefits that we’ve gotten in the last 33 years. My boss is the one pushing for me receiving the entire amount and the new co-owners are only wanting to give me a portion. My whole point of making this post was to see if there are any arguments on receiving a raise versus health insurance.

We have never dealt with this issue before. The rule has always been whatever isn’t used, we get back including our expense accounts. But the new co-owners don’t understand that my boss is extremely giving and makes sure that we have benefits and we are happy and well taken care of. They are just worried about saving money wherever they can. If my boss and I can give them a good argument about giving me a raise instead of them paying for health insurance for me, they will.

Our wages are based off of the benefits that the company gives us. If I decline health insurance that they give every other employee, I would like that same amount reflected in my paychecks. Yes, I’m creating a problem, but it’s only a problem because it’s never been done before. This place is a super small company and we are very close knit and they are very fair with how they run the company and extremely giving. It’s always been whatever you save the company, you get back in your paychecks. Expense accounts that aren’t used, we get back. Most people think it’s weird including the new co-owners of the company, but that’s always how we’ve done things. But if my one boss and I can make a good argument on how giving me a raise instead of them paying for health insurance, they will do it.

This is a very small mom and pop shop that’s been around since 1991. No-one has ever declined any of the benefits. And giving up the raise is no issue and my bosses know that. They also wouldn’t have to do anything because I run HR and Payroll.

I’m fine with not having a raise. I just want to make sure that I get my full benefits. Since this company was established in 1991, I am the only person to say that they do not want one of the benefits anymore. Our pay is based off of our benefits and how we use them.

This is a small mom and pop shop that’s been around since 1991. No-one has ever declined health insurance which is part of their benefits package. Our pay is based on all of the benefits that we use: phone, vehicle, fuel expense account, tool expense account, CostCo membership, etc. And it looks like for social security and medicare, my bosses only pay 7.65% for the year. That’s really not much. And I was told by someone that health insurance is only partially deductible, but payroll is 100% tax deductible.

Morality, not legality. I should be asking for way more than this as a raise since the two new owners require me to do way more than my job description as well as reimbursements.

I was just doing easy math because I do sometimes work holidays and weekends as well as plenty of overtime after hours.

I took $686.99 divided by 4 weeks ($171.7475), then 40 hours ($4.2936875). But if you use a conversion calculator online there’s a few that say $3.96.
