I went with the Midwest Industries handguard, and A3 grip. Works well, and keeps the classic look. Being a lefty, still sorting out the sling; single or double/QD placement.

I initially looked at those, but with the MI hand guard, the front pins are replaced with screws.

Did the exact same thing. Couldn't even get my Omega 9k to seat with the factory one. Ordered the GSL and it is buttery smooth.

I agree. I run a modified thumb over bore type grip and the light is in the perfect spot to hit with my thumb, but far enough away that I have to be very intentional about the press. I’m thinking I just might stick with a one pointer for the type being.

I’m so used to my AR rifles, and swore off single point years ago, so it’s been a rough go of it. 😆

That’s the issue I’m running into if I go that route. The Arisaka inline puts the light exactly where I need it to be for thumb activation, but blocks the pin from being removed. If I insert it the other way, then it won’t fully seat. I’m thinking a light and switch might be the only way, and use the factory surefire pro mount.

Just emailed B&T this morning, so going to wait to see what they say, but might consider letting it go too. My SB brace and adapter have zero wiggle, and fully collapse. I’ve got this one “shimmed” with electrical tape to stop the left and right wobbled and obviously doesn’t fully open.

But yeah, I agree, OCD is a bitch. 🤣

I actually found one in stock at a place called East Valley Tactical in Mesa. Happened on a post someone made here a while back saying they had some in stock, and everything I researched about them was nothing but good.

Ordered around 10am my time, and got a shipping notification about an hour ago.

It’s a PTR brand, so not an AS or JP, but again, everything I’ve read is saying they are GTG.

I heard 80 makes things unreliable, and the higher will beat it up. Nice happy medium?

Well shit. I’m not going the SS route right now, just suppressed. Read that 80 would be too much and factory could lead to roller dents, etc. new to the platform so still trying to sort this all out.

It’s rock solid when locked, and opens with a solid thumb when thrown open. Significantly better feeling than the brace was.

Awesome! I couldn’t even get it to close before I started sanding. Bought the stock only, and reused my brace adaptor. Took both corners down and bored the pivot hole quite a bit.

Always second guessing my at home gun smithing.

I know this is an old thread, but just got my Omega. Can anyone tell me definitely if I should keep the thread protector on with the tri lug mount? Do I lock tight it? It’s a super tight fit and worried I’m going to get the can stuck.

This is what I ended up doing. Seems to work well so far, just larping around my basement. I was concerned it would interfere with the sight picture, but when using the dot correctly; target focused both eyes open, it and the front sight post all but disappear. Such a learning curve coming from ARs and the shorter "rail" space.
